do you think he makes jeff lug that thing around for him?

somebody explain to me why he needs the Ichabod instead of something that doesn't require a flatbed trailer to haul it around.

I stopped listening to SP from 2004 to 2011.

Please explain how you are not obsessed?

Did it happen already? Was it recorded or was it shown live?

Billy likely prepared better this time around given the criticism from last time, but I can't help but think that it probably sounds like me playing around on the Figure app by Reason.

Um okay.

I understand you are lapping this up cause you have a lot of respect for billy.

I think it is great that billy is doing this to just experiment. But it comes off as going to a zoo a little bit. Like come watch the billy touch knobs.

Also, people like you never really talk about the content of the books and poems after. Just comes across like you are just making him think you care for whatever reason you want him to.

I can't put my finger on it. But it isn't that corgan is doing this that bothers me. He can shit in the middle of the room if he wants, it is his tea house.

But if you are just going to see corgan and all you got out of it is that corgan is happy. I don't know.
I mean this concept, I would go watch a nobody do it. People do this shit like this every year at an art festival downtown.

I have a point some where.

No, I don't think so at all. Like I don't think of it the same as you going to all the open mics. Like I think there is genuine interest. I also don't shit on everything he does but I don't think everything he does should be celebrated.

I think if I were corgan I would be really angry with people only interested in what I do to please me or get close to me. Just very fake. But I think he craves it actually.

But that still isn't the point I want to make. I need to think about this more.

That excites him and he doesn't know where it will end up. It's very different from writing a song, then recording it, then touring and playing it every other night. If one thing goes wrong in a song like that, he can just move to the next chord and pretend everything's fine. I think taking that chance and not being afraid of failure is very cool. It is rekindling his initial fear of messing up in public. The 2000 United Center show, he messed up the words to Muzzle, but just kept going, and there was another 3 hours of show left, nobody cared at the end of the night that he flubbed the words to one song. With this experience, if he messes up something, it could be catastrophic.

When you're a musician and you are inexperienced, there is a real fear of failure that is exhilarating in a way. Then you learn from it, and learn how to handle mistakes. After you overcome that, it doesn't give you the same tension and thrill. There's no sense of danger. He's long since surpassed that feeling, but this brings a lot of that back. I think it's cool.

This wasn't a concert, SP or Billy, this was him getting excited about things again, and then channeling that into his actual songs and forthcoming albums. I guess a lot of people had other expectations.

Another thing he said was that he can't judge whether any of it is good or bad... like when you're a kid and you start drawing, but you don't know what you're trying to make... it doesn't matter if your mom thinks it's a good drawing, the point is you were drawing. Billy is doodling in public and there's an excitement he gets from it and is nice enough to let people in on the process. Again... pretty cool.
If it's anything like the Siddartha thing I would have literally no way of telling if anything went wrong, nor any capacity to care.

Edit: I think the thing he did in 2004 trying to record that solo album live was a lot more effective way of simulating pressure--that stuff sounded good.

A nice Sunday afternoon at a teahouse, with more going on than usually, and that for free.
And for him a good addition to working in the studio behind closed doors.
Nothing wrong with it.

I would never want to experience these events with most sp fans. People staring at corgan, watching every knob he turned, trying to ignore the poems.

Let's be honest with ourselves, if corgan is doing it right he should almost sorta disappear. But the show is corgan.

There is a genuine interest from me. It's a lot easier that I live fairly close by, it takes 20 mins to get to ZuZu's. But for me, Billy as important to me as a musical influence as Pete Townshend. (that statement would probably mean more to people who actually know me) So, it's really awesome to me to be able to see and hear these insights into his process. I've never been like "oh, cool, if I go here billy will like me more"... It's always been just the fact that I love a shit-ton of music he's created. I am lucky enough as a Chicago-area resident and musician that has been influenced by him to actually see him making something and get to talk to him, it's very cool to me, and if that makes me a dickrider, so be it. I like him as a musician, an artist and as a person. He's never been rude or disrespectful to me, so, why would I ever shit on him?

I have spoken to you enough to know this is true but you must know what I am talking about when I say many go to watch billy like a circus animal.

This is so fucking hipster. I was just thinking how people would be all over this here. Except it is Billy.

Where I live this wouldn't be so shocking because of nuit blanche.
