i've listened to significant other yesterday, and it's not that bad/Limp Bizkit
i tried not to think of it being released in 1999, of backward hats or gang signes.
and being taken out of context it didn't seem that bad as everyone thought for last decade. along with three dollar bill y'all it would pass as some second hand rage against the machine/helmet/mr. bungle cover band work. there was some painful to hear tom morello rip-offs, and the lyrics are sub-par, still that gay pig singer does it well during his MJK impersonation moments. discuss? Limp Bizkit
is back with their original lineup. new album and tour is in the works.
without Wes Borland, or John Otto, I wouldn't care...but I never saw the band play back in the day, and with those two are involved, I'd go see 'em "so go ahead and talk shit..." |

I'm not gonna talk shit, everyone has their own tastes, but why? I mean, care to tell us just a little bit more about what endears Limp Bizkit to you? You are one unique individual, clearly.

it's not even like i'm a huge fan, but i think it's cool that they've been able to (mostly) keep their band together. maybe it's just late 90s nostalgia, but i downloaded their performace at Rockpalast from this year and watched that a few days ago so i've been listening to their stuff again recently.
i guess i can see why some people see them as corny or whatever. they got popular pretty fast and their songs are not exactly deep or thought provoking, especially lyrically, but they still have some pretty good songs. Break Stuff? Counterfeit? Yes please. for me i think it's mostly about John Otto...i really like his groove style of drumming. |

I have to say that I like TDBY now, and Wes Borland/John Otto combo is perfect overall. WB should have moved on to a better band (like pushing Black Light Burns, which did not impress me much, but it was an improvement) or pursue a highly demanded session musician career, akin to Josh Freese.

They apparently had less apologists than Oasis did.
Anyway, it's funny to know that ten years ago LB was the lowest point of music scene, considering the fact that now we have mainstream ten times worse, the only difference is that it's now hailed by Pitchfork. |

i think we're all better off without nu-metal, and back to basics with all the post-grunge balladeers dominating the radio.

Is there any radio left?
Mainstream is more about last.fm top charts, or Pitchfork "most read reviews" section. |

It's not that mainstream followers USE last.fm or pitchfork, it's what monitors their tastes using selected group o people. It's like some media that blogs about hurricane on far east, yet most of the hurricane victims can't read or don't care about that blog.
