all the "Japanese" food I've tried or even seen has been so fattening. I guess it's extremely changed to suit the American palette? Same with Chinese food, Vietnamese food, and Thai food. I bet I'd not even recognize the dishes served directly in the respective countries.

Kids are sleeping over at a friends' house...they left home by themselves, to catch a couple of trains, there.

It's 10:25pm and we're still at home, watching back to back Midsomer Murder episodes for the nth time, crunching the numbers on the excess funds from the house sale, that arrived in our account tonight.

I found the perfect place for date night just now. Will be leaving shortly.

one time a review for a chinese restaurant made me lol. i guess cuz i was reading it out loud to someone else and it was so unexpected:

"I can't believe the good comments about this place...It was the most tasteless chinese food I ever had by far! The won ton soup tasted like old tissues filled with mucus. The beef served in the beef brocoli had a texture similar to plastic. The only thing that was somewhat bearable was the rice. The service was also fairly bad."

i guess cuz i could imagine bad wonton soup tasting like used tissues

never been to Japan or China, but Thai food is just as fatty and fried there as here.

Did anybody see those episodes of "Master of None" where the Chinese dad speaks to the waiter to bring the table "real Chinese food" while the Indian guy just wants chicken and broccoli?

Chinese food is actually super interesting because Chinese immigrants have changed their own cuisine to better suit the cultural tastes of where they moved to in a number of different countries. the US is not the only place to have "Chinese food" which is actually not like what they eat in China

I was surprised to find that a LOT of restaurants in India have a Chinese section of the menu. Some items are familiar to Americans, and others are not.

Someone can say something that I disagree with or is wrong and then I'll be all ACTUUUUUUUUALLLLLLLLLLLY... All prolonged and emphasized and shit. Usually good for a few cheap chuckles.

It can be something that I simply disagree with too. I recommend saying it in a snarky, exasperated tone of voice. Adds to the comedic affect! But you can't be so over the top with it to the degree that the person knows you're joking.
