Loud music from other apartments never bothers me unless it's exceptionally late at night. I lived upstairs from a drummer once, and you can't complain about that at all.

if i shower at night i have to do it in the dark. there's a large window smack dab in the middle of the shower, covered by nothing but a semi-opaque shower curtain. in the daytime it's fine, but at night if the bathroom light is on the old lady next door would get a free show. i am all about getting paid for my work, so no thank you.

We have this purple rope light thing behind our medicine cabinet so I like to turn that on and listen to some soothing music when I shower...this is especially nice with some nice scented candles and some LSD.
