I Googled "ethan hawke bearded frontiersman" and think that Ethan Hawke Talks Playing John Brown in 'The Good Lord' probably nailed it.
If his character is a hapless type that stumbles through life, letting people down, he might be quite good in it. |

This surely was a Nolan movie. Most of his movies tend to be james bond with a twist. James Bond but bad memory, James Bond but dreamworld, James Bond but bats, James Bond but timestuff... Also the audio mix sucked. I couldn't hear most of the dialogue and whenever I tried turning the sound up I was punished with LOUD AS FUCK MUSIC AND EXPLOSIONS. Fuck off british aristocrat. |

In all honestly, I am struggling for viewing ideas but this one came out of nowhere and was genuinely top notch.
I've seen a couple of episodes of an extremely distinct (from Succession) show that's more of an oddball docuseries on intentionally strange topics that might help you through isolation. It's called How To With John Wilson, but it's too early for me to vouch for it overall. It has elements of Nathan For You, which is a fantastic show you'll want to get to if you haven't. |
