It's got a few fun jams. The Take On Me cover is awesome. It's just a fun little release, nothing to do take so seriously.

Good tunes, yes, but there's a lot of better other ones. I'm listening to the new album right now. It's pretty good! Experimental, but good!

This is a fun little uplifting ditty

And here's a rap song I actually dig!

Even Pitchfork gave it a solid review. Again, it's nothing special, but the way they're cranking out music, even if there's only a few good songs, it satisfies my fandom.

I can’t imagine an SP fan not finding something to like amongst these bands.
A lot of those are old bands/artists. While I certainly like some of those, groups like the National are exactly what's WRONG with current guitar music... Boring, pretentious and trite.

Who's dismissing "decades" of music? Certainly not I. I just wish bands would try to actually rock again. The public is STARVED for it. That's why even a shit band like Gretta Van Fleet is getting people so excited... They actually try to rock.

True, but they're post-2000, which was the criteria. And whilst i know exactly what you mean, that's a superficial take on The National. They're a lot better than wet indie guitar bands around at the moment. But then... their best album was 14 years ago...

That's cool man. What's their best album? I'll check it out. I've heard a handful of their stuff and the guys voice kinda annoys me, but I'm always willing to give music 2nd chances.

The National's best album is Trouble Will Find Me

although Alligator can probably keep my heart forever

Alligator.

But there’s good stuff on all of their albums. Trouble Will Find Me is decent.

Their lyrics manage to be abstract but also coherent. Something lacking in Corgan’s writing.

Major hyphenation, ellipsis, and syntactical issues going on above.

A good clip to show how bald Rivers was going. The whole top back of his head was bald. Now 8 years later he has a great head of hair...Hair transplant for sure

Great performance though, but check that out... looks weird to see him half bald

So I'm chilling on my sofa after smoking a joint, watching the Dodgers game, and look who just happens to catch my eye! I was like "no fucking way?!?" and sure enough

Looks like the Riv man is out enjoying a game with his wife and 2 kids, on Japanese night at the ballpark no less!

Sensational!

i can think of nothing more typical of Rivers Cuomo—"the Riv man" as he is sometimes affectionately known—than sitting front row, semi-incognito at a pro sporting event

Dude must've cashed in big time during the Weezer resurgence over the past year because those tickets cost an arm and a leg

Blasphemy. Sure, Weezer's put out a lot of crap, but there has always been some good shit mixed in, and since they release music so frequently, there's still a good chunk for a fan to be satisfied with.

For example, this is pure pop-rock gold, way better than anything from SP's latest Rubin collaboration

Not to mention that Everything will be alright and The White album were both great and miles ahead of anything that Corgan has released in the last 21 years.

I like about 4 songs from it, which for me is a pretty good ratio. It's definitely trendy pop stuff, but I think when it works, it hits the mark in a fun way... Especially when compared to when Corgan tries to be current with songs like Knights Of Malta.

Man, I fucking love Weezer. They have another new album coming out in a few months. Billy Corgan should take notes. One can say what they like about Weezer, but they sure crank out a lot of music.

The new lead single is great!

And they're going on tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy next year! Holy shit!
