that show is just not very good and never has been, it's been running on Jeremy Piven for most of its run and most of the time it's just a masturbatory heterosexual fantasy world

Screw you guys, entourage is still awesome.

The episode a few seasons back of them tripping in the desert on mushrooms is easily the most accurate representation in any film or tv show of what tripping on mushrooms is like.

entourage is just a show about kewl doods who do kewl things. it's still funnier than alot of drek out there but i don't have any desire to watch the latter seasons

i'm watching season 1 of true blood and it was better than i expected. i thought it was just going to be "LOL vampires!" for a full hour but there was way more depth

i'm in the middle of the third season right now. the shapeshifter werewolve shit is really pushing it for me but i guess there's no shark jumping coz it was a ridiculous show from the beginning. i guess my main complaint is how so many things go down in one shitty bar all at once. kind of a mental disconnect there. like right when that hedonistic demon lady is out of the way, then werewolves are suddenly on bill and sookie's path? cant there be a time lapse or something? but whatevz its just a show, and its better than anything else i have to watch right now

The show had a great first 3 seasons, but it's clear now that it's lost it's steam. Mad Men has jumped back over it as the best show on AMC.

season 4 is coming along pretty good. i think in terms of crazy shit the show peaked at season 2 and since then the writers haven't left their comfort zone too much. i figured gus wouldve been killed off by now and walt would be facing a bigger and badder antagonist every season. but its still really good. probably my favorite show after mad men

How can you say that?

What has happened this season that would make it at all close to the previous 3 seasons? The characters are getting stale and played out, there has really been nothing major happen whatsoever. The only big thing to happen was hank getting on Gus' trail. The show has gotten really boring.

There has been tons of character development and tension building, but I have a sneaking suspicion you watch the show for the plane crashes and one minute shootouts

There was better character development the first 3 seasons. The only character development worth a damn in season 4 is Hank.

Everything else about season 4 sucks. Same old same old Jesse screwing up somehow and Walt being a dick to Jesse but then Walt for whatever reason deciding to save Jesse and then Jesse pulling a sudden turn and doing something to help save Walt.

And Skyler is making a run as one of the most annoying TV characters of all time.

This season is just god awful.

Breaking Bad is still going strong. I'm guessing Walt and Gus will be forced to team up somehow against the cartel and that meddlesome brother in-law DEA agent. Having Gus getting axed right now would empty this season and next.

Jesse hit absolute rock bottom in the first three episodes but he has gotten his shit together, even if he is merely Gus's tool. Jesse has gone through a spectacular transformation from junkie moron to stone cold competent badass, and he hates every part of it. He feels dead, and it's only when Gus makes him feel good about himself that he begins to feel good about the fucked up shit that has become his life. If anyone is screwing up this season, it's Walt.

Walt has become pretty unlikable, obsessed with murder, power and control. Season 1 and most of Season 2 were focused only on Walt's desire to provide for his family; at this point, money is not even an issue, it's all about power and control, and while Walt is concerned for his family, the concern is of physical safety rather than monetary security..

How you can say these are not character transformations is puzzling to say the least

and I think you're right TOC.. I love that everyone was predicting (and for good reason) that Walt was gonna kill Gus in the first half of the season, and at this point it seems they are going to be partners for a long time. The writers are brilliant

Jesse hits rock bottom in every god damn season. It's just a tired formula the series keeps following in regards to the relationship between Jesse and Walt and it's gotten extremely stale.

This season has just sucked big time.

From what I've read and the little I've seen of the show is the Jesse character supposed to be a little slow? Or is he just dysfunctional / a screw-up?

Ah yes, 9/11 - the 6 month anniversary of the earthquake/tsunami/shitstorm that happened in Japan on 3/11.

yo that's completely besides the point. I was just repeating a conversation that I though was peculiar.. don't need to get into some deep discussion about genocide and conspiracy theories in a true blood thread.

Boardwalk Empire, which can make a run at Mad Men for being the best show on TV.

Season 2 looks like it's going to be just as good as the great first season.

when does it start back up?

Loved season 1 though there was a rather shitty gap for a few episodes there.

Would like to see a little more NYC/Chicago in the show.... i think it speaks to how involved I got with their supporting characters.
