It's weird, the number turned up hours later. Sometimes it would show up in the contacts, sometimes it wouldn't, depending on how I opened up the contacts.

I think it's because she accidentally put her number in the contact name field, so maybe the system didn't know what to do with a number in an alphabetical list, and it caused a glitch?

Anyway, I'm afraid that the fates have intervened to keep me on this collision course for heartache. Unless she ends up not responding anyway, which is probably what will happen.

Thanks. Though I dunno, I texted her a few hours ago and haven't received a response, so probably nothing is going to happen.

I usually don't text the same day, but I just wanted to make sure that the number that suddenly turned up on my phone was indeed hers. It's awkward, because we didn't even have enough time to tell each other our names.

there is a musician in Israel, he was kind of a big name in the 70's. he did this pretty, "classic" type of music. not as in actual Classical music, just kind of very old fashioned pretty, melodic music. his name is Shlomo Gronich.

i recently discovered this track, which closes off his first solo album from 1971. during the recording of that track, Gronich was on a massive LSD trip, fucking around in the studio when the sound engineer told him they were recording without his knowledge. Gronich's response, "why didn't you tell me?", later became the title of the record.

it's seriously harrowing shit, and i think it's one of the most perfect, beautiful representations of rippling, clear emotion that i ever witnessed in music. and i mean that sincerely - not in a hipster kind of way, of pointing out some hyper obscure weird noise track and saying it's a fucking masterpiece.

it's incoherent, it's ugly and bizarre, it's uncomfortable and embarrassing in its nakedness - and it is precisely what i feel right now.

Not only that this is one of the three rarest and most desirable LP'S that were ever pressed in Israel, but it's also one of the best albums in the history of Israeli music (together with Danny Ben Israel's "Bullshit" lp and The Churchills first psych monster lp). This is the first and the only album that Poopik made and it's from 1971. It's a pop-rock masterpiece with psychedelic influences by the best writers and composers of the period. More than half of the album (seven songs) composed, arranged and played by the best Israeli rock band at the time - The Churchills (two tracks in this album are Hebrew versions of The Churchills songs: "Too Much In Love To Hear" - The Churchills first single from 1968, and "Yellow & Blue" - a song from Jericho Jones "Junkies Monkeys & Donkeys" album from 1971). Three other songs composed and arranged by another cannon - Shlomo Gronich (the one who made the great Israeli progressive album "Why Didn't you tell me?" from 1971). The Biggest hit on this album composed by the greatest Shalom chanoch is "Among The Stars". This album is so amazingly rare! It was pressed back then in 1971 in no more than 500 copies and not many bought it at the time. It hasn't been for sale on Ebay for more than a year! Finding it in any condition isn't an easy task at all, but to find it in nice condition is almost impossible nowadays! Although this copy isn't perfect, still it's a nice one! The catalogue number is "13014 PHONODOR STEREO".

it may not be, ahem, "hipster" but it sounds like garbage cans and sells for 4-500 USD for an original pressing.
