Aww, Electric Picnic is gas. I'd love to see it headlined by Rubber Bandits with SP beneath that.

Unless they did a Marlay Park / Malahide Castle? They mightn't be big enough though, can't see them supporting the Cure either.

Be great if we got a night in the 3 Arena.

I doubt they are able to play Marlay Park... do we still have Indiependence and Castlepalooza?

Why are the same bands still headlining festivals from 1999?

I think it has more to do w/ the old industry (for all its flaws) being able to result in a band becoming truly huge whereas nowadays it's more a series of cult phenomenons

i remember thinking something similar when i'd heard the list of "best rock album" grammy nominees from like a year or two ago and it was something like The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Muse & some Imagine Dragons type band that was only even in the "rock" category because there was a guitar in there or something

This is what's really disturbing about band orders on these posters, from today's perspective.

Every year in rock music from the 60’s-90’s seemed to have its own sound and evolution. Sadly, that seems to have ended with nu metal in the 2000’s. What a shitty note for rock to have died on.

Not disturbing for their status in 1994.

There is! But there hasn’t been a change or movement in the genre since early 2000’s. In my ass-tute opinion.

a change? dude shit has been bursting like exponentially, like fractals man. so many fucking subgenres and subsubgenres, fucking hell. last 20 years are the best for rock so far. so many artists focusing on music instead of fame and fortune.

They updated the whole thing. Very tempted to go to the Amsterdam gig, it's not part of a festival and in a very small venue. And I love Amsterdam

hah, afas live may be very small for SP, but it's still a capacity of 6000 and just about the most cheerless, characterless venue I've been to in the last 10 years

Are you sure? I just checked it again it says "Concerts at the Zitadelle Spandau take place in the center courtyard, which has a capacity for 3,000 people". Please let me know if that's wrong, I'd rather go to the smallest venue possible.

Tempted to go for Amsterdam as I have relations over there, however would prefer to see if they announce an Ireland date. Saying that, I wouldn't go to a festival, so if it came down to Amsterdam (their own show) vs an Ireland date (at a festival) I'd go Amsterdam.

oh wow, they are playing Berlin! and announced with plenty of time ahead. what is happening, they suddenly make sense.

and yes, Forgotten Child, Berlin Zitadelle is open air with up to 10k. And I fucking love it.

you people who follow Bully on instagram - there was talk about doing solo gigs while in Europe, right? any more on that?

because one of my top 3 favorite SP gigs was INSIDE Zitadelle Spandau Berlin, so since they already play an open air there, how about Bully does a solo gig inside, that would be amazing. http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp2007-06-05

Yes, he asked people informally if they would be interested in solo gigs early 2019.

Which one would you go, Zitadelle or the one in Amsterdam? I prefer small crowds but that could change if the crowd in Berlin is more cheerful.
