I called the adjuster on friday afteri spoke to him earlier that day and he told me he'd have the dollar amount by day's end (he didn't). like i said, he sounds really squirrelly on the phone. he hemmed and hawed for about 5 minutes about nothing. so i was like "do you have ANY idea what they're going to give me?", so he searched on his computer and said "it looks like their preliminary estimate is 3750 plus taxes".

"is that figure likely to go up or down?"
*5 more minutes of hemming and hawing* "Let me see what other information I can get and i'll call you back"

calls me back and tells be that a secondary estimate was 1700.
"there's quite a disparity between those two figures."

so he hemmed and hawed again for another 5 minutes so i hung up on him. what a useless turd.

going down to grab my plates and my textbooks and say goodbye, and spend the rest of the week arguing with them until they throw money at me to get me off their backs. if i can push the offer up by any substantial amount, i'll be happy.

I had a customer who was a claim adjuster, and she got a $10,000 bonus last year for undervaluing other people's shit.

By the way, the car is currently sitting in the yard of a used auto auction place. Would it be reasonable to given them 3 options?

1) give me x dollars now
2) give me y % of the final sale price
3) talk to my uncle who is a lawyer

the rodeo started having an issue. it's leaking brake fluid like crazy. i have been driving it less because of this problem, but then the versa's windshield got destroyed and now fixing this is going to be the cheaper solution to getting safely back on the road.

when the brakes are pumped it just gets pushed out really quickly. i'd like to think it might be the piston seal but i don't know what else. but it could be anything. i can't get a good look at it right now. i'm going to try and get her on a lift soon so i can get a better look. i'll report back with what
