That band, period. Never made a bad record, never written a bad riff, never written a bad song, always done whatever the fuck they liked, been consistently progressive and totally uncompromising for 20+ and still have a massive following. Realest, rawest, heaviest band out. Love them so so so so so so much.

I gave a kid a copy of Reign In Blood for his 1st birthday yesterday. I'm doing my bit for the future.

I hope the Baroness guys get well soon, three of em were in bad condition in a hospital after their bus took a 30 foot tumble down a hill.

In other news, their new album is a pretty big departure in spots but I dig it!
The new Gojira is also great. |

Yeah i've also been digging that new Gojira album. I was always kind of a moderate fan of them but I saw earlier this year and their live show was fucking jaw-dropping. Have you heard this tune dogfighter?
it's the tune they did with Devin Townsend and Fredrik Thordendal from Meshuggah. They played this with those two guys when I saw them. |

I finally gave a proper listen to both Tombs albums and they weren't incredible but still pretty awesome background metal music

NEWCONVERGESONGNEWCONVERGESONGNEWCONVERGESONG!!!!! !!
I mean, I know i'm a really hopeless fanboy for this band and I would be frothing on this no matter what it was, but I'm loving this tune. Converge doing a skramz kinda thing, i'm amazed by their ability to tweak their sound but retain their identity at the same time. Not shit hot on the video though. Actually they've never really had good videos. |

I know what you mean about them repeating themselves but they're one of those bands who I can listen to repeat themselves and still really enjoy it, like Meshuggah. I just find the shapes so interesting - all the weird angular riffs and everything bunched together in really counterintuitive clusters of notes... no other bands out there quite doing what they're doing, that's for sure.
Plus it beats listening to Orthrelm |

UH SO YEAH BEEN LISTENING TO THAT NEW CONVERGE ALBUM A BIT HAS ANYONE ELSE HUH YEAH ITS GOOD HUH
But seriously. There's only one tune i'm not crazy about (Sadness Comes Home) but everything else is fucking amazing. "Trespasses" and "Sparrows Fall" are some of the heaviest craziest tunes they've ever done, and then there's "Coral Blue" - holy shit what a song. I know i'm a massive fanboy for this band so most of you are probably disregarding this rant but everyone else - do not sleep on this album. |

http://newalbumreleases.net/49845/ne...in-decay-2012/
site is good for more or less mainstream releases. i like that the webmaster used to have another blog that was removed from the internet due to copyright infringement claims, but the guy apparently just went on with a new one with the name 'New Album Releases' |

I hadnt heard of Cloud Rat two weeks ago, but their new album is fucking my face off at the moment:
Grindy blackened metalcore with a healthy dose of Screamo influence. AND an amazing cover of Needle And The Damage Done |
