Agreed. It's a good sounding set but I wouldn't pay anywhere near that much

Audacity is a free audio recording/editing plugin that you could use.

A detailed video tutorial...

Hope this helps.

I used Audacity and a turntable running thru my mixer/interface when I got The Prodigy's No Tourists on vinyl a couple of weeks ahead of its release.

Curious as to why this bootleg sounds so much better on vinyl and, if in fact, it's true.

I understand the qualities and depth vinyl produces, however, wouldn't they need the masters (transfer) to press an accurate sound?

ah well you see, when one spends $200 (USD) on something, they are contractually inclined to believe it sounds better than the previous mp3 copy they owned & loved for years otherwise they are facing the prospect of serious insanity and/or psychological hospitalization. hope this helps, BigTruck05, been a big fan for years!

We already have like, four different vinyl rips of the original, official recording

Whatever audio this BOTTLEG is sourced from would have come from one of those

Probably with additional audio processing according to the BOTTLEGger's taste

getting a rip from this BOTTLEG is like, another two or three stages of audio conversion and processing

I'm not convinced that it would sound much better, especially ripped with a USB turntable

I'm sceptical of the overall quality of the whole package. The SD and Gish era photos are out of place. The bonus tracks tacked on the end are more and more out of era and place as they go on. They could have omitted the entire fourth LP.

You’re not wrong! But I never saw it anywhere else and it sounds good? It’s the first version of real love that doesn’t sound like a wall of diarrhea? I don’t really listen to much music now unless it’s on vinyl and I only use Apple Music on my phone so it had been years since I’d heard a lot of these songs. I don’t have a personal computer anymore. I think it’s justified. The tack ons at the end are weird but whatever it’s fun! Stop shitting on fun stuff.

Remember people this is the same Eulogy who can't hear the clipping on any of the albums that are full of clipping.

There is no way a source ripped from vinyl to digital, then through what was mostly likely digital master and cutting back on to vinyl sounds good.

They probably have just run some shit janky hiss removal on it.

I don't know what your on about, but nowhere in my Bible is there mention of Christ "splurging" every couple of years.

I could have paid $50 for it and I'd still say it sounds better than the flacs I've listened to for years now

The artwork seems sourced from old fan-created stuff, so I wouldn't read too much into that. As for the latter parts of the thing, it seems like they just tacked the FAEOMM tape on after MII, removed tracks that were on official releases, and filled out space with random stuff from 1997-Djali Zwan. I'll agree that's a weird choice, but maybe they just didn't want to have a whole side with nothing on it or whatever.

I'm not trying to insinuate this is some magical objectively superior way to listen to MII or anything, but just saying it does sound pretty goddamned good, so I feel like either whoever put it together probably did a lot of work on it, or, against all odds, maybe someone out there got ahold of Billy's stolen tapes?

the idea that this sounds better than available rips is laughable, especially on a mickey mouse turntable with a USB output on it.
