Russian sage EXACTLY. The most russian sounding genus ever: Petrovskia. A russian plant that has infiltrated American yards and now our wilderness.

There are lavender farms in the Walla Wallaean Vale. Farms of onions, lavender, and grapes surround our noble penitentiary!

This is a bromeliad called Aechmea fasciata. It's an ugly mall plant. Ugly because it is found in malls. Within the rainforest it would be gorgeous. I guess it does look fasciated, even though I think that's just its typical form

The Volunteer today at the Soup Kitchen is an old fanily friend a French Prof. who also has a lavender farm not far from Whitman Mission. Whenever he sees me in line he gets this pensive look bordering on disapprobation..

I GUESS HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE DARKNESS!!!!

This guy keeps failing to post pics and links because I talked to Pakula and we agreed that any hyperlinks originating from Russia need to be stifled. We don't need any of that nasty propaganda here. U know whose links haven't been working? Just take a guess...
