ugh.. nothing against him but why's he got to be in everything. even the prequels were sort of creative with the casting. except for liam i guess

please don't make him a villain, at least

I would like to see him as a protagonist. I think he's great, but he is way overcast as the bad guy.

Adam Driver will be the villain in STAR WARS EPISODE VII

http://variety.com/2014/film/news/st...ls-1201121646/

Quote:
Sources tell Variety that while no deal is done yet, the “Girls” actor is close to signing on to play the villain in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Exact details are unknown, but the character is said to be in the vein of iconic “Star Wars” villain Darth Vader.

Driver, 30, is the first cast member to be revealed for Walt Disney Studios and LucasFilm’s highly-anticipated “Star Wars” installment, which will open in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.

The big-budget tentpole, directed by J.J. Abrams, is scheduled to shoot at London’s Pinewood Studios in April. Additional cast members will likely be announced in the next month.

The delay in making a decision was due to scheduling issues with “Star Wars” and his HBO show “Girls.” Sources say it’s not just Season 4 that was the hangup, but also future seasons, since future “Star Wars” installments could also coincide with upcoming seasons of the HBO Lena Dunham comedy.

Sources are now telling Variety that scheduling issues have been resolved and that a deal should be finalized in the coming days.

don't have an opinion since who knows what they have planned for him

like i said in the ben affleck as batman outrage.. people raged over heath ledger cast as the joker and look how that turned out.

but one thing i don't want to see is Darth Vader pt.2... and as for the movies themselves i hope they don't reflexively make the a movies a paint by the numbers remake of episodes IV-VI because the prequel trilogy got such a bad reception

it's ben affleck doe

i think that heath ledger stuff is more about ONLEE JAEK NICOLSEN CAN PLAY HIMS I REFUZ 2 EXCEPT. NP STP - MEAT PLOW

basically what i'm sayign it was a lot of that grungebaby whining about these kids and their damn music when you are KIDS WITH YOUR DAMN MUSIC but heath ledger was like FUCK JACK NICHOLSON I'M OUT. *hanging*

nobody's like mad that affleck isn't christian bale, we're mad because he sucks a bunch and he's playing batman. when bale was cast as batman all the patrick bateman fans were really excited about Patrick Bateman Wayne and figured he can pull it off. Affleck's gonna be wise-cracking blue batman and it's gonna blow

from what i've read batman in the Man of Steel sequel is supposed to be a "grizzled veteran" .. i don't consider myself an "affleck fan" or anything but he has a fairly wide range, he's a recovering alcoholic ... add a few pounds and a five o'clock shadow i could see him pulling it off in that framework.

i mean, like i said it really depends on what they're doing with the character. iirc people raged over heath ledger because he was mostly known for his teeny bopper roles so people probably expected a pretty boy in makeup acting "zany" or whatever

i thought Man of Steel was pretty tepid and uninspired anyway (fight scenes were utterly fantastic though). and this new movie sounds like their trying to riff off the The Avengers success by cramming DC characters in there.. so my hopes in general are pretty bleh

starting to think we'll never get a good modern supes movie

there was that Knights Tale thing.. i dunno, seems like he really came into predominance with those kind of roles. could be wrong

i only remember fag cowboy being his real "breakout" role as a "serious" actor. but i'm too lazy to waddle over to IMDB

i maintain that he's boring and is a symbol of america from a time and place that has passed

i think all that stuff about how batman is not the hero we deserve but the one we need or whatever was a ****-commentary on how he's suddenly the premier DC comics hero

well jesus christ man just go and find out he did 10 things practically as soon as he got off australian tv

then it was a mel gibson movie and i wouldn't say knight's tale was teeny bopper, he's in that monster's ball movie before he even got his feet wet

i saw brothers grimm and him and damon are great in it. it's a very weird very fun movie as per gilliam

why did this guy kill himself again i don't

Yeah this is a good post. Never heard of this guy but I picture him talking in a Hans Gruber voice

Recognize this guy? Probably not.

How about now? Even though Ep I sucked, everyone knows this face, and he was arguably the best part of the movie

well he didn't kill himself, just had a drug problem. unless you want to argue its one and the same but i'd chalk it up to "death by misadventure"

brothers grimm was really good and underrated. i still need to get that

killtrocity a lot of people already knew ray park as a martial arts expert, just because his face isn't famous doesn't really mean that people didn't know him

besdes peter fuckin serofinowicz did the voice of darth maul which i didn't know and is also hilarious because he's possibly the UK's biggest Star Wars nerd

(That's him as vader)

my point is that the casting of Adam Driver means nothing in regards to what kind of villain he will play nor how iconic that villain will be as Order 66 pointed out
