Info on the dvd documentary - Page 2

Ok, just to clarify, I don't give a fuck about how knowledgeable people think I am about Johnny Cash. What bothered me is that suncrashesdown implied that Johnny Cash gave the camera the finger to look rebellious, as if he cared about his image at that moment. I know some people reading this have to agree that to compare Johnny Cash to Kid Rock warrants some criticism.

On topic -

I hope the DVD is nice, but to have all sorts of HD sources and then not put it out on Blu-ray also would be a real tragedy. I wonder if Jeff, Ginger, and Lisa will be given much face time, or if it's going to be mostly close ups of Billy and Jimmy while trying to pretend the others don't exist.

Well somebody said most of the footage is shot in HD using HD cameras. It would be silly to take that HD footage and not release an HD version of the show to the end consumer. They can downgrade the footage to SD for the DVD version, but it's not like they can't do both.

I think the disconnect here is that they might be using 'DVD' as a catch-all term for 'home video format release', and if that's the case then they have every reason to brag about their HD footage if they're going to release in an HD format as well as DVD
