The tone is more mature then MTAE which I like, and if it was an album ender I probably wouldn't be too opposed to it. But as a lead single? No. And God damn it what is his infatuation with lovers. I would actually like to know.

Wow surprising hate on this. The vibrato is nice. I dig this song. Best thing I've heard him do in a long time. The strings are real good.
Actually like this song. It's good he got rick rubin to produce so Billy wouldn't put all these shitty stupid electronics and mellontron stuff |

I'm picturing Billy retweeting Taylor Swift's snake videos today and going "Me too, guys" and it's good for a chuckle

Is that Auggie Jupe and Airplane Mode on the cover? Maybe Ogilala was his first word

A little vibrato goes a long way.
A lot of vibrato threatens to kill an otherwise decent song. But the production and vocals are pretty good tbh. I like the song. Last edited by VoxUpDoc : 08-22-2017 at 06:18 PM. |

I'm easily Top 5 Dorkiest Taste in Music on this board and even I'm not falling for this.

I do like the chord progression, but the vibrato is really a bit much.

Wellll.... There's the lead single off the long awaited solo album folks.
I'm trying to look at it through unbiased eyes (I.E ignoring the brilliance of the old music).... I mean, I guess it's not bad for what it is but it's something that I certainly wouldn't spend my time listening to. It definitely has that 70's cheese factor of a song like Kiss' "Beth" or the cheesier stuff from Electric Light Orchestra or something, but without the songwriting quality. I guess the bottom line is that Billy Corgan is just a totally different songwriter now, and his upbeat writing style that he's had since around 2004 is something that doesn't really resonate with me much. |

On 2nd listen, it seems like during the chorus that they're trying to ape that version of "Hurt" that Rick Rubin did with Johnny Cash.
