Hey there, caine_walker is handsome young man with the world in his grasp.

If he wants to be a smashing pumpkin then darnit he will be.

It's just such a sobering realization how down the tubes this band went.

I wish I was into this band back when they were amazing.

Alas I was a few years too young.

Billy needs to get on the archives project and remind people he used to know how to rock.

william should so what the foo are doing.

Foo Fighters Team With Butch Vig for “Heaviest Album Yet”

...But unlike the Foos’ previous two efforts, which were recorded at Studio 606 (a cutting edge recording complex/rehearsal space/party den that the band owns in Northridge, California), this forthcoming album will be recorded entirely in analog — and out of Grohl’s garage....

That sounds pretty cool.

Foo Fighters seemed to have kept it together for a good while.

I vowed ten years ago I'd never join this forum.

I'm here more because I hate SP now. Not anything about what it was (88-2000) but the total clusterfuck it's become.

Same. I was 11 when I first saw BWBW on, yes, MTV. I had never seen anything like it before, it was so emotional and heavy and fucking perfect. I bought MCIS immediately. This was early/mid 1996. Then I saw them on tour in Miami on Nov 17, 1996 and it was amazing and I bought all the other albums, working backwards, and started posting on AMSP. And well... the rest is history? Miss what it was, of course, but even if Billy shits all over his legacy like he's trying to do, I'll still always remember 88-00 fondly. And Zwan. And even his solo record. But mostly the real SP.

That's true. I've been aware of netphoria since the beginning, but i didn't join until this year because i need a place to try and make sense of how my all time favorite band is now something i can't really stand.

Same!

I'm so unobservant that I never paid much attention to anything until MCIS. I was dating this guy who was mooching on my sofa watching videos, and 1979 came on and I said, "Who's that? He's so tortured!" and he's like, "Where the hell have you been?" (but nicer than that because he was my bf and probably thought I'd eventually have sex with him) and I immediately went out and bought Gish, SD, MCIS and TAFH.

I was so innocent and impressionable then.

throw in PI and that's all you really need tho

and it is good shit it's just you know everyone starts sucking eventually

maybe bolly's carreer will have some kind of upswing when he's like 50 or something and realizes he's been a total fuckhead, who knows. it's not unprecedented for the middle part of someone's career being completely forgettable only to redeem themselves when they get older. i think, whatever.

billy corgan sucks

Oh yeah - and Pisces. That one used to be my favourite. If I could only take one of them onto Gilligan's Island with me, and the Professor had a CD player hooked up, I'd probably take Pisces Iscariot.

i liked the smashing pumpkins when they we're an actual band you could listen to and enjoy. that love has been replaced by morbid fascination with the train wreck corgan has made of it. it's all so wrong these days but i just can't look away.
