our greyhound sleeps on our bed. It's like having a 70lb cat.

i know. im sorry. i just think the whole idea that it's only right to let them outside is misguided. nothing wrong with doing it but there is inherent risks involved like increased injuries.

:/

i find it sad (and a bit weird) if a cat has to stay inside all the time.

they're domesticated. i don't think there's anything wrong with letting a healthy cat (that still has its claws) outside but i don't find anything strange with keeping them inside either.

keeping things alive is selfish. for its benefit of living. weakening the gene pool of both humans and animals. everything alive should have the opportunity to die to prove it should be alive.

the only way to teach animals to stay off the road is to hit them with cars and leave them to rot so the other smarter animals will see it and evolve.

my crazy ex decided to teach our cats a lesson about going outside by letting them go outside in a wooded area they had no business going out in. like seriously, rural louisiana is no place to let cats roam around by themselves.

they came back in like a minute and he refused to let them in.

i got them in a few minutes and let them in and cleaned them up and then got the shit beat out of me for it.

bout an hour later we are about to go to work (this is like 4AM now) and he asks me to check on the cats and i find one of them dead. it is obvious in hindsight that he killed this cat or at the very least found her dead before i did.

true story

hard for me to be unbiased about this whole thing because of that but uh we had this convo before. domesticated cats are not the same as wild cats or other felines. doesn't mean they can't survive or like living mostly outside, but they thrive the most when they have good people taking care of them and live the longest inside of homes.

growing up, my family always had indoor/outdoor cats. If we ever found a body, they would be pretty mangled up from a dog attack or coyote or hit by a car.

I will only have indoor cats now. I think of it just the same as letting dogs run around without a leash/fence otherwise.

Jesus Christ Erica. Someone should tie him up in the woods, paint him with honey and wait for a bear to come.

Reprise, that story sounds like a scene from a horror movie. Like an early scene where the audience isn't sure yet just how vile the dude is. Then the tortured female lead finds the cat dead, which ends up being a prelude to second act, which includes at least one nudy scene (for R rating) and the death of at least one well meaning neighbor.

Also, I feel like it was a scene from Sleeping With The Enemy.

The cat at my flat is really friendly and fluffy, but not like POOF fluffy, and he loves to be stroked everywhere, even on his belly

kitty going to an eye specialist on monday

her infection is better but her eye stain test is still positive (ridges in her eyes could progress to ulcers and vision loss). it's probably chronic so it'll be a manage them so they don't get worse situation.

i didn't want to post about her right now in respect of trots' situation with his kitty.

but she is doing well, being much more friendly, eating more, eyes look great. i havent taken her to the eye specialist yet because of $ but honestly her eyes look fine. i will take her as soon as i can but the medications seem to be doing their jobs well.

i'm a lot more calm about the situation. she's cuddling with me and stuff at night/in the morning.
