Default New NIN album is finished and "frankly fucking great"

Quote:
I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”
Trent just posted this.

Feels strange that he's putting it out with Columbia. Still, new NIN. Hooray. They have quite a track record so far.

Gotta love it how Trent only told the audience about working on a new album after he'd finished. He did the same thing with Year Zero, I recall.

While i'm all for Trent continuing to put out NIN music the whole "wave goodbye" tour thing seems like a bit of a cop-out now.

he said before/during that tour that it would probably return in the not too distant future, iirc. he just wanted a break from it.

How to create a buzz... NME posted exactly the same title like every site. Artists always say this. I've never seen a singer stating this new lp sucks :-)

New single tomorrow:

http://kroq.cbslocal.com/2013/06/04/...nted-thursday/

This is how you get people pumped. Don't announce shit until the day before the release. That's how you get the word of mouth going.

no you need to make oblique announcements of impending announcements of announcements for six months and then never actually deliver anything, ever.

They'll be touring with EITS and GY!BE. In the US only, naturally :/

I'll pay whatever anytime to see EITS. I don't hate NIN, just can't get into/listen to them for whatever reason. It'll let us get home that night instead of staying in Pittsburgh overnight, mainly.

godspeed takes a mighty dump all over EITS but stroke and folks etc

that line up is possibly worth $80 but it's probably going to be arenas

I hear Depeche Mode all over this one. Which isn't to say it's not good. Definitely has an 80s feel to it though.
