Default What if The Beatles didn't break up?

Hey I thought I'd post this here since I think some of you guys might care, but I have this dumb blog thing called Albums That Never Were, where I've reconstructed The Who's Lifehouse, The Beach Boys SMiLE, Jimi Hendrix's First Rays of The New Rising Sun, (Songs From The Black Hole and Glass & The Machines of God are on my hitlist...)

Anyways, tons of people requested I make an album if The Beatles hadn't broken up, so I did... It's a series actually.

So anyways, here is the first one, Instant Karma! which is like a combination of Plastic Ono Band, McCartney and All Things Must Pass...

What if Fugazi didn't break up? The world would be a better place and John Lennon would still be a dead hack.

Crazy to think about.

The broke up at the right time. At their peak. We never had to see their "Zeitgeist".

also, Wings was a coll band. I'm grateful for that.

You mean the Beatles album from an alternate timeline, that was given to this guy through a wormhole?

Yeah it's just as real as my thing here.

Wings was almost total balls. Lennon and Harrison's stuff is mostly hit or miss after the band folded, but All Things Must Pass is like a fucking perfect album. Listening to it is like a god damn spiritual journey

As opposed to a sentimental journey?

if they hadn't broken up they would have probably ruined their legacy.

Yeah I just posted the 1972 album, and it was pretty bad. The 1974 is also pretty yucky (Dark Horse/Walls & Bridges/Venus & Mars/Goodnight Vienna).

doubtful, people don't give a shit about the bad music you put out at the end of the day. Rolling Stones put out heaps of shit over their career too, but no one even thinks about those albums.

Was talking about this with my father in law the other night - you think they would have ever gotten back together had Lennon not been killed?

One of those things - much like with Nirvana - when a band HAS to stop at what turns out to be a real high water mark. Had they not been forced to stop then, would there have been a lackluster reunion or string of albums that would have thrashed the reputation a little bit?

Yes, probably, and it would have been terrible. They were all friendly with each-other by 1980. I think the last hold-out was McCartney and Harrison....

Nirvana is hard to say, because Cobain was already so disillusioned with the game and Grohl already had a few albums worth of solid material himself. Since there was already the split in the Nirvana Camp, I'd say the band probably would have broken up in 1994 anyways if he hadn't died.

Unfortunately, I think that In Utero did enough of a thrashing of their reputation. Many people were disappointed in that record because it didn't have the popular appeal that Nevermind had. It wasn't until he died that the album took on a new life of its own, and then of course they released Unplugged.

Beatles definitely would have reunited if Lennon hadn't died.

Nirvana was basically broken up when Cobain died

How can you hate Craig Ferguson, he's so funny. Apart from his AA spirituality stuff. But it's amazing that he's sober, so I forgive him for that.
