I wish more bands would play at this venue, City Market, because it's not very far from my apartment. we're walking!

No matter how much you dislike them, you have to admit that the fact The Killers are so popular with teenagers is pretty funny. They're basically an 80's synth-pop band - and not a very good one at that - but all these little teenagers think they're the best thing to happen in, like, ever, lolz!!!11!1!1!! Every time I hear them or see a kid with their cd/t-shirt etc I can't help but laugh at how preposturous the whole idea is.

They're pretty good, I wasn't a huge fan on the first album, it had a few good songs, but Sam's Town is a solid album, they're one of the better new bands on the decade. I saw them live at Staples Center in LA last month and they're really good live, Brandon Flowers has got a ton of charisma. The Killers remind me a lot of U2 and apparently when Brandon put an ad in the paper when he was looking for band mates he mentioned The Smashing Pumpkins as an influence, so he's a fan. They get a bad rap with rock fans because of kids liking them and because of the uber gay Mr. Brightside video.

you're forgetting solid does not equal good, and there are hundreds upon hundreds upon thousands of better bands than them

"thom yorke should go back to writing pop songs"

-Brandon Flowers

this transgression alone should get him shot and killed. i'm sure he woke up one day and was like "my band is big enough that i can say whatever the fuck i want!" no brandon flowers, you cant.

i like the killers a lot. they're one of the best pop/rock bands out there right now. that's not necessarily saying much.

the show seemed to go by really fast because they played there biggest hits towards the front of the set. so it kinda seemed off balance or something.

but they played, uh, let's see, since i dont know the exact order:
enterlude,
when you were young,
jenny was a friend of mine
bling
for reasons unknown
read my mind
bones
mr brightside
somebody told me
sam's town
smile like you mean it
this river is wild*

encore:
cant take my eyes off of you (tease) > some b-side i think
all these things that i have done

encore 2:
when you were young (reprise?)
exitlude

*band stopped because i guess people were fighting in the front row and he told them that there's enough hate in the world or some gay shit like that.

overall it was a good performance, seemed a little rushed, the crowd was almost unbearable. three tall dudes got in front of us and brena asked them if she could move in front of them since she's a little thing. i followed her and one of the dudes didnt want to let me through. i was like, "dude, she's my girlfriend [not entirely true], quit being a dick."

there was this one tacky ho who kept climbing on someone's shoulders, so we all hit her with water bottles and cups until she got down. even a pair of sunglasses were thrown, which smacked her right in the head.

oh, yeah, hot hot heat didnt translate very well live (or on record, loloollzing) and the people before them (red romance) were decent.

This, along with their horrible cover of Joy Division's "Shadowplay", has cemented The Killers in atrociousness.
