Default Danny Brown

I've been on a Danny Brown kick for about 3 months now. XXX is some top shelf shit and Black & Brown EP with Black Milk has been my jam recently.

Anyone else listen to him or is he still too under the radar for you people?

Can't wait for his new album but unfortunately I doubt it actually ends up dropping this month like it's supposed to.

Anyone who is associated with Das Racist I tend to like: El-P, Action Bronson

But this guy gets on my nerves with his grating nasal voice.

I swear it must be satire the way you post about every college bro flavoured of the month rapper/band exactly six weeks after their hype has peaked.

Y'all motherfuxkers need Nacho Picasso.

Picked up "Old" at the library. I think it'll be one of those that irritated me at first but that I come to really enjoy. On the way to get bread is my favorite right now.

Old was one of the only hippity hop records that I warmed to more or less on first listen and felt like listening to on repeat from the get go.

Puzzled as to why this thread was bumped but I do find it amusing to be reminded that the way CW identifies El-P is as being affiliated with Das Racist

He was on Heems' mixtape Nehru Jackets as was Action Bronson. Heems seems to work with people that I like.

Yeah but he was also one of the most hardworking and influential producers and label managers of the 90s and 2000s before any of that. That's like saying "oh I tend to enjoy artists solo-era Billy Corgan collaborated with, like Linda Strawberry or that Robert Smith guy"

Das Racist's mixtapes are garbage. But their album Relax is something I stand by. They are taking themselves a bit more seriously on that one. Not just making fun of / deconstructing rap. Heems' solo stuff is good. I got my friend who absolutely hates Das Racist to admit that Heems' solo stuff is pretty good.

But he's just like you. He hates what they are about. He doesn't like hipster culture at all and he feels like they are a disgrace to rap music. But he sees that Heems solo work is quite different from Das Racist.
