Then again, maybe it was cool but the available audio is bad. Just seems really slow.
Yeah, I'm kind of surprised they went with the MI version. Figured if we ever heard it again live it'd be Arising.

He's probably angling for what he thinks most people remember.

FYI guys, according to the torono SUN interview, billy considers these set-lists to be proficient.

Is this the best incarnation of the Pumpkins we’re seeing live?
BC: I think musically right now, we’re very proficient.

Lol what the hell's Cluckett talking about? Smash Mouths Monkees cover came out after Walking On The Sun and All-Star. It didn't "skyrocket" them to success haha

I saw the SP Darien Lake show. The only song I was really into was Blue Skies Bring Tears.

The rest of the setlist if kind of garbage. The band sounded "OK"

They gave Jeff too many solos and I could barely tell that James was in the band.

Fire and Rain
Blue Skies Bring Tears
Aeroplane Flies High
Took me a while, but I figured out what bugs me about this setlist and the idea that it must have the hits. That approach, while typical for Billy, ignores the best songs of the Pumpkins. We all know what those are, the ones that are always at the top of fan polls:

Muzzle, Drown, Starla, Mayo, Ruby, Porcelina, Soma, Geek, By Starlight, Hummer, Pug, Behold, SIYL, and yes, TAFH. I could go on but I might get a little more controversial.

They played many of these on the 2018 tour. And it was the best in many many years. Not a coincidence. The Pumpkins' biggest strength is this amazing array of powerful songs that anchor their albums, not their radio hits. The latter was a vehicle for the former, in the minds of the fans who want to pay $$$ over and over again for these shows.

To me, those epic, core Pumpkins songs are the "real" hits, and to play sets that ignore them, and thus neglect the musical legacy of the band in favor of its commercial history, is madness. That's why I'm not inspired at all.

Hey, Billy I know you're reading this.

Fuck you.

It wasn't until earlier today, after reading this thread, I really took a step back in perspective looking at those insta stories. This fucking millionaire rockstar is bitching on a fucking instagram story that fans need to pay more for tickets so he can strap on his fucking favorite Gish guitar and play Tristessa. Go fuck yourself. Maybe Everett True was right.

Maybe he should stick to poetry. Anything, rather than regale us with more of his dreadfully over-expressive, chest-clutching falsetto and beefy register.

Sensitive? Fuck! The first five minutes into the set tonight (the second of three nights in an “intimate” setting, ostensibly to reward their fans – more obviously, to be filmed for future use on MTV) are sick-making in extremis. A local radio jock introduces the band to screaming, while Billy looks more smug than I’ve ever seen smug before. Sensitive? Fuck! That would explain why their major label wanted the Pumps to release a record on an “indie” before the real “push” – anything to help that extra-sensitive credibility, right? There’s nothing like honesty, eh, Billy?

Billy's truly just an outspoken jack-ass. That's why I liked when he was going off on tangents on shows like Alex Jones, it was Billy in a moment of truth, expressing his authentic self.

Even Courtney Love once said, Billy's truly just a grumpy man.

could never understand why some of the best songs have been ditched for many tours now -

-Gossamer, Tear, Once upon a time, Beautiful...

Hell, Zeitgeist had some great tunes that have been played rarely or never since the tour -

Doomsday, Starz, Tarantula, USA...

Gossamer might be the greatest tune he has written

I have made note of this and it will not be good for you when the GSGE (Greater Serbian Galactic Empire) ascends unto dominion and glory.

seeeeeriously...2007/2008 was probably the best era setlist in SP history.
Ztgeist era songs, Adore, MCIS, SD era. Stand inside your love..
Long gigs, setlist kept changing.

Good times/bootlegs
