Dave Navarro et al. (Camp Freddy) cover BWBW at Roxy Hollywood 12/18/09
They played at the Roxy the last three Fridays (70s covers 12/4, 80s covers 12/11, 90s covers 12/18) with various guests on vocals, etc.
Chester Bennington vocals (notice how he doesn't know the words), Travis Barker drums Another angle Last edited by markpregen : 12-20-2009 at 02:42 AM. |

I'd say they did a good job of it, especially considering it was one song in three nights worth of covers. The vocals are good, but only better than Billy for after 1997.
I think it would have been fun to be there. |

The guy's got a really good voice for singing Billy songs. It was a tight and controlled vocal performance that sounds more like the actual record than Billy usually sounds on tour.

Pretty cool. He didn't know the lyrics but it sounded good. Who's the guy beside Chester (with the faux-fro)?

Hah. I was pondering this, too.
I think I decided that the kit Byrne uses might in part be to blame...it sounds like trash can lids being bashed together, and I'm not sure a different style of playing would change the acoustics of his kit. |

Jimmy played Jazz, anyone who has played jazz on the drums knows that it takes a serious knowledge of dynamics within a song (notice how Jimmy always knew when to play soft and when to play loud) the kid and Barker don't really know that (Barker knows how to play pop-punk well, and presumably, the kid does well) it makes them good drummers, but never quite as good as a Jazz drummer, I've really gotta wonder why Billy picked the kid, when any highschool Jazzband drummer could have done a better job really.

Not bad, but the drummer is a hack compared to JC. Fills at 2:14 did not sound right.
