Default 2/7/96 Kezar Pavilion, San Francisco, CA

YouTuber fromthenosebleeds just uploaded the 2/7/96 Kezar Pavilion show which he recorded!

This is a rare one. Since going to shows since the mid-80s I never heard of a gig at this venue located on the edge of Golden Gate Park so didn't quite know what to expect. Old Small basketball auditorium built in the 1920s held around 4,000. Naturally I gravitate towards the top of the bleachers not to be bothered or discovered. It was a weird set up and believe it or not, I was at the top in the "nosebleeds".

the band was so "on" this night, they seem to be having a great time and playing off of each other. james in particular sounds phenomenal, his leads are hella on point.

Wow.... skipping around in the video and you're telling me that this shit ends with a full band Farewell and Goodnight?! Jimmy and Darcy duet part is so good, too. Replete with Melvoin keys.

Man, I've gotta watch this whole thing now.

Great show so far but I gotta ask what is up with the light rig? This was supposed to be the #1 rock band in the US and it looks like a middle school talent show up there. Wow.

tbh, the venue itself looks like quite the MSTS setting as well

would understand if they played here on the Siamese tour or something, but during their peak popularity? god damn, how many people got literally smashed at this show?

If you’re not a nerd about anything/everything related to the MCIS era i can’t imagine why you’d ever even come here, tbh

much worse

having given up all hope of ever coming across an answer and seeing no other option, i DM'd billy about this one via instagram once in the throes of maddening curiosity (this was prior to, and quite possibly a precipitating factor of, his #nerdalert shaming spree)

he responded almost immediately and said he didn't recognize the pedal

fffffffff

and that's my story of getting trolled by billy, excluding listening to any of his post-breakup output

The live rock Ruby outro is just so fucking badass; I'm floored every time I hear it

I want to hear rehearsal of that. I want to hear them discussing how to end Ruby live on tour. I want a studio version. I want them to play that live in 2021 and have Jimmy burn my soul down with fills

There is absolutely no reason not to release the soundboard for this show as an official release.

I was just talking about how uniquely great this show was in that MCIS thread:

http://forums.netphoria.org/showpost...4&postcount=12

If you haven't downloaded and listen to the upgraded audio source that circulated last year, do it now: https://archive.org/details/tsp1996-02-07.hagar.flac16
