I love Kate Bush

I hate that I could not be there when she (briefly) returned to the stages

I would even go to bat for their newest one, Dopamine. It's a massive improvement over Ursa.

I dunno. I wouldn't strong-arm anyone into liking them (same with JEW). Either you do or you don't. But if you liked Semi Charmed Life, you might like some of their other stuff even better.
Yeah! Ursa Major, that was the album... Probably the first 3rd Eye Blind album I've actually listened to front to back, just awful. I think I'm gonna check out some of their other stuff. I'm a huge 90's kid who's checked out mostly everything, but for some reason never gave 3rd Eye Blind much of a a chance... I guess they were a little late to the party.

QOTSA is definitely up there for me. I'm especially big on the self-titled and Rated R. Thought ...Like Clockwork was a nice comeback from the kind of spotty Era Vulgaris.

Era Vulgaris has five songs I will never kick out of bed, but the rest of it is just kinda "meh" for me.

Having said that, "meh" QOTSA is still better than most modern rock bands.

I wish they had put this song on the proper album. It's also one of my favorite song titles ever.

Yeah Fun Machine was recorded for Lullabies wasn't it? But the tapes were stolen?

I had to pick QOTSA because it's the only other band where even if I don't immediately like all their material, it will eventually grow on me to the point where some of my least faves become my most faves

For example didn't like the Blood Is Love at all when I first heard it, but now it's in my top ten Queens songs

It's a hipster thing. It's not cool to like incredible rock energy mixed with great musicianship

If I had to pick one rock album forever I'd be hard pressed to choose amongst

Lovelife - MBV
Songs for the Dead - QOTSA
Mellon Collie - lil bill corgan & friends

Luckily I don't have to choose, cause fuck that'd be hard bro.

NIN are probably my all-time favorite act, with SP coming a close second. I don't obsess over either of them the way I used to though.

Others that have taken that spot at various times: Bowie, Bauhaus, Ministry (up until about 2001 or so)

I love those early-20th century modernist art styles.
