If vaporwave is the doomed Japanese businessman roaming the halls of the virtual plaza with a vacant grin on his wrinkling face, distroid is the former soldier and body-builder now working for a private international security firm, his bulging muscles criss-crossed with blade and flame tattoos and his face screwed into a macho grimace above a tight black T-shirt bearing the Monster Energy Drink logo.

see i wouldn't really class Ferraros' recent stuff as being close to PE but eh :S

that Gatekeeper record 'Exo' is really damn good, in saying. have you heard it?

the non-r&b stuff a la "bodyguard" i see coming from a PE stance, or at least the next wave of that influence. he's not the best example (as an originator) but i've been seeing a lot of acts pop up featuring a dude in a black trench coat and fingerless gloves bang out extremely heavy industrial and hip hop beats with a sampler.

just listened to some of that album "exo" and its pretty much what i was talking about regarding "distroid". i haven't checked out anything on the hippos label since i've stopped listening to ferraro.

i just haven't been able to get into it.

for me, obscure micro sub-genres created by the internet are just no fun anymore. from shitgaze to chillwave to beach goth to seapunk to vaporware - none of this has had much of an overall impact other than trends/fads/image gimmicks. the funny thing is that most of them start off as inside jokes and then the internet runs away with it.

I tried to watch Zombie (zombi 2) last night.

I dunno if its just being burnt out from watching all the Romero zombie flicks but I didn't enjoy it.

The main difference I found was that Romero's pictures have a strong message about how the real war is man vs himself whereas "zombi" is just a straight up gore picture w/ too many non-gore scenes.

Spinning my new House by the Cemetery LP from Death Waltz (amazing label). I haven't watched Conquest yet Slunken but I've seen a lot of other Fulci trash I'll report on soon.

Yea I definitely feel that and like that. The problem is that in 3 attempts I kept falling asleep. I need to check out more of his work.

you should see it dude, my fuck. Xpressway, early American Tapes...oh yeah, and pretty much every self-released industrial tape that saw the light of day in the late-70's/1980's

dude could become a millionaire if he put these on Discogs.
