No that is classic Pajo being a dick. I'm not one to defend Billy but Pajo is kinda a dick like that. The kinda guy who shows up to help you with something, half asses it, drinks all your beer, then asks for gas money whens he's leaving.

Really just two guys who have personalities that can not ever work together. Pajo wants to come in play the 5 songs he feels like once, release the stuff low-fi warts and all and Billy is the guy who plans out arcs of multiple albums with 63 layers of pitch perfect guitar over dubs on every track. This difference between the two of them caused a feedback loop where Pajo just want to be there less and less.

Now the place where blames lies is way before this. Where Billy wanted to tap into the indie rock scene so he hires two talented low-fi artists but then gets made that they are low-fi artists.

They should have just been a live act. They could have been like an amazing indie rock jam band kinda thing. Billy of course though could never be that laid back.

"all those songs we co-wrote are getting shelved and it's only gonna be these new ones where I get 100% songwriting credit. You guys are just hired hands anyways, re-read your contract, enjoy the ride."

and so they did, and their maxed out their per-diems with 100$ lobster at every chance and stopped caring realizing they were dealing with a psycopath.

cue twat corgan having a fit because his rank and file stopped giving a shit after he shat on them.
