Default My little interview w/ billy corgan (great info inside)

sorry that i am all over the place at the start.. kind of caught me off guard when he was coming out and I had used my big camera earlier today so i also forgot about how sensitive the camera was..

i used the small camera so i wouldn't be so "in his face" with the camera.

this is about a 6 and half min video. pretty straight forward.

I asked about "era shows"

I asked about the billboard dates

I asked about possibly doing more residency

I asked about the residency songs

Girls asked about "playing in Japan"

Someone joke to ask about "if they were going come to AU"

my friend Rachel asked about the open taping policy

Someone asked about the 89 Demos being played

I asked about how easy it is for them to get back to playing old songs (mention spiteface and we get into a really weird funny tangent)

this is a MUST listen or watch interview!

nice! very interesting stuff. lol at billy still being scared of you monte
but seriously though, why does it weird him out when someone knows the really old songs? it can't be that freaky that we know pre-gish stuff. OR IS IT?

anyway, pretty revealing interview there, nice job monte.

20th anniversary show, looking at tapes for a dvd, more residencies and possibly a fan club to get tickets

nice work.

So they heard the fans talking on the tapes during songs and it on the tapes as well.

It's interesting to see how he's well aware of the gap between the mainstream fans and the hardcore fans. You can't please everybody.

Very interesting to see what they're coming up with for the residencies DVD - sounded like he was saying we'll get some live tracks, but also some studio stuff - songs they didn't play live in the residencies and studio versions of the residency songs(?)

He also specifically mentioned Gossamer - now I'm really hoping we'll get a studio version.

Edit: The fanclub maybe isn't a bad idea, but Pearl Jam fans are just as bad in terms of wanting rarities every single show. Doing both a major tour and some small venue fanclub shows would be cool.

i think it is the fact that i knew what he has played in the past and when he played it....

personally i don't know why that has ever bothered him but whatever.

nah, sounded more like a throwaway answer "oh you're scaring me", but more like he didn't want to get pinned down on what they are or aren't doing.

I think he was trying to wrap it up at that point.

Nice job though, thanks very much.

Fuck you people for praising Monte for being a fucking creep. I'm all for news, but I'll be fucked before I videotape someone (who has already expressed being creeped out by you) while in casual conversation.

And yeah the whole residency dvd, with live video and audio footage with an accompanying EP type studio release with residency songs. Fuck that is awesome.

Like Monte said...I think he was more freaked out that he knew Billy teased it during the residency than just the fact that Monte knew it.

yeah i think it is that, like knowing every date and location a certain 3-second riff has been teased over the years... obviously it takes very little obsessiveness with the resources available to us in this age of information, but i can imagine in billy's shoes it could be a tad disquieting in the same way as if someone walked up to you on the street and told you what you had for breakfast on july 22, 2007.

Billy seemed pretty nice in that video actually. That was some really good info though, I am still curious about what he said about having 10 people on stage at once. Wish you would have asked that. I wonder besides LA, NY, and Chicago if he'll come to Miami since that was also a big city the pumpkins missed this tour. Heres hoping.

Thanks Monte.

i have only had billy ask me to turn off the camera once and that was during the BC solo show before the show when he talked with us.

The guy knew he was being video taped, i was coy abpit ot at all. Billy is perfectly fine about me, he just a little uncomfortable with the obscure refrences...
