NCAA Football 2014 (Annual thread in which I make wrong predictions + fight with you)
My first prediction: this thread will not go more than four pages and one whole page worth of posts will be my own.

Will be an interesting season.
Go Texas. Go Baylor. Really interested to see how Franklin coaches up Penn State. |

I have thought about the upcoming season a total of about 27 minutes, which makes me eminently qualified to now make some predictions:
1. Conference left out of playoff: Big-12 2. Playoff teams (not in order): Florida State, Auburn, Michigan State, UCLA 3. Oregon will lose three games or more (including one of the following: Oregon State, Washington state or Utah). 4. Notre Dame will lose five games or more (including one of: North Carolina, Navy, Northwestern). 5. Baylor will win the Big-12. 6. Will Muschamp will be fired. 7. Nebraska wins the Big 10 West. 8. Washington wins the Pac-12 north. 9. Either the ACC or SEC team will win the championship. 10. The 'group of 5' team will lose their bowl by more than 20 points. 11. Oklahoma will finally beat Baylor. Eulogy suicide watch will be at medium-low: wedding bolsters spirits despite loss by Notre Dame in crap bowl game. |

Right so Florida State, Alabama, Ohio State and UCLA should all be out of the top 10, but of course they will stay there.
Georgia should be ranked #1 for getting the best quality win, but they might move up to #8 or so. USC may move up to the top 10, as well they should. |

ND looks good. If Daniels gets cleared to return and the pass defense tightens up (collinsworth getting healthy would help that), this is a 9-3 or 10-2 team.

Will know more after next week.
UCLA's offense is a dumpster fire. Why are they in the top ten? |

Do you still think ND loses five or more? Golson looked great.

I didn't see much of the ND game, just enough to be sad that they weren't losing. We'll know more after Michigan. Probably going to be just you and me in this thread all season, guy. |

Heh heh fine with me. Big game for Oregon next week! I have a weird relationship with MSU now since Tom went there so I'm not sure who to root for. Interested to see if MSU crumbles under the weight of expectations as they usually do.

Hey I'm around. Along with Texas without their QB (Ash has another concussion, shouldn't play again) and best o-line,an (he broke his ankle Saturday).

Espinosa was by far their best o-lineman. Most experienced, yes, but I'll take Estelle or Flowers, or even Harrison over him. Espinosa apparently has a decent football IQ but constantly gets his shit pushed in.

I'm pretty down on Oregon this year. They looked very average last year and I don't think they have fixed their defensive problems. I expect that Michigan State will eclipse 300 yards rushing and win by at least two scores. Also, I am not convinced that Helfreich is a good coach. Mariota is an amazing player, but he can't help the defense.

Little bit of both I think. ND can't beat FSU unless they get lucky. But they're a 10-3 team maybe?
Brady Hoke will be fired if he can't beat MSU or OSU. |

Way too many quality wins now for other teams, and yet Florida State is still number one. Glad that the polls are irrelevant.

Rumblings out of San Francisco seem to indicate that Jim Harbaugh is losing the locker room. If there's even a shred of a chance he might be available after this season ends, expect Michigan to can Hoke and make a run at hiring the asshole.
He won't bite, though. If the Niners fire him, Harbaugh will more likely find another NFL gig (I'm guessing another west coast team, maybe the Raiders). |

That may be true, but it seems like things aren't all sunshine and roses in Niner country.
