the video originally aired months before the song was released publicly - this kid is actually singing unreleased demo version lyrics that go back as far as 1993 this is 1337 as fuck.

That Beautiful pijama version is Kinder Delice level for me. As is Cupid on that shows also.

The version from that one show in 1994 is so surreal.

Why did Alice Cooper feel the need to walk past me? Why was I such a threat to Alice Cooper? I was a huge Alice Cooper fan. I saw Alice Cooper in ’86 at the Metro. I had every Alice Cooper album. I looked up to Alice Cooper. Why didn’t Alice Cooper walk past me in the hallway and mumble, “Hello?” Because what I represented was some sort of weird threat to his beautiful world that he was able to bubble around in for so many years.

Someone, back in the day, made a massive MP3 collection of every alternate live version of every SP song. I have it... somewhere...

It's called "Second Sight" if you want to search for it.

The arising and FAEOMM version of Blue Skies Bring Tears get me everytime. I don't like the album version
Ava Adore live with Jimmy on drums is also ace...gives the song a totally different more agressive sound. Also, the Machina II version of Saturnine is so great.

Also, Rhinoceros and East have great alternate versions.

The 1996 rocket live performances go without saying...beyond amazing

Yes that's the one. I'm sure it was quite an undertaking.

My thing with that comp is that it is for purely education purposes only. I mean even if you did manage to keep it upgraded with the best possible sources, you would still have a crazy grab bag of fidelities and recordings styles that makes the entire thing unlistenable from a casual perspective.

tl/dr - who cares about the sources - you're not supposed to just throw the thing in a playlist. it's reference material at best. a fine one at that.

Finally someone who speaks sense!

The first version of BSBT is soooo good. Especially the "a-a-ahs." But I also like the heavy version on MII.

Didn't they do a lite+heavy BSBT live?

Yep, their arising songs were a bit less simple, then in 2000 they vamped up the song. In early 2000 they seemed to have tried out the studio version live, but they also vamped it up. Just listened to the 2000-05-24 version where they played at the Community Theater in Berkeley. They play an atmospheric intro for some minutes, then they speed up like during the Arising era, and the final two minutes are slow again. 2000-05-16 also, you can listen to at the archive
