yeah, surprising that they didn't make it onto anything. maybe they don't exist except in the really poor quality version that leaked? if this is the case i can see why they didn't want to put them out on an official release.

the "Pisces Iscariot Box Set Audio High Fidelity Download" presale gives you the alternative of "source audio" for the bonus tracks... i guess that means 24/96? that would be nice

Looks like more questionable "re-imagined" art, like maybe some Linda Strawberry watercolor painting...some crude attempt at re-painting the original album art...ugghh:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...rL._SS500_.jpg

2 CDs of stuff we've already heard a million times, except for a couple of tracks. Not interested in "remasters" or "2012 Mixes". Not interested in hearing "bonus tracks" that came out on Viewphoria/Earphoria a million years ago. All this stuff sounded totally fine before remastering, & it would be way more interesting to hear some actual rare stuff. Looks like the bonus DVD is the only thing to look forward to here.

Song samples up on Amazon. Meh.

For every copy not sold, there is less of a chance of interesting remaster sets in the future.

I need you alone to buy three copies of this to help ensure the resequenced/remixed/remastered Machina next year.

Holy crap, "Cinder Open" isn't Cinder from Mashed Potatoes, it's the untitled instrumental on the FAEOMM tape.

I don't understand what the big deal is with the 2012 mix stuff. Doesn't that just mean they have remastered the tracks? The songs on the other reissues were remastered well, weren't they?

There is a difference between a "remix" and a "remaster".

A remaster is a new tweeking of the final master mixes that were originally made. This would 1nclud3 new EQ and compression perimeters. For example, the Siamese Dream remaster was the original final mixes from 1993, but it was made louder and brighter in the mastering process...

A remix is when you create a completely new final master mix straight from the multi-track mastertapes, disregarding the orignal final mix made before. An example of this is the Starla 2011 mix, in which Corgan had little to no vocal effects (as opposed to the "Vig-Corgan Vocal formula" on the orignal), made the guitars more upfront in the mix and put new effects on the solo.

Mixing and mastering are different steps of the production process.

Interesting. I'll have to listen to both versions to see if I hear a difference. Someone should make a bootleg version of the album that's essentially a playlist of all the original, unaltered tracks. I have a ton of rare/unreleased tracks but it's hard to keep track of what I have and what I don't.

Crawl sounds dope.

Not excited about Cinder Open being a previously-"released" track.

But I hold hope that bolly may one day do a non-commercial release of completely new outtakes. meh.

cinder open really belongs on PI reissue? I would have thought maybe TAFH reissue. sounds a lot like the porcelina riff but on a 12 string.

TAFH material would be 1995-1996; PI material is apparently 1988-1994. Cinder dates form that later era.

Same here. I was holding out hope that some of the songs that looked familiar would be at least be brand new versions or something. But no. There are six songs here that have been officially released on CD already, and half of those didn't even get a 2012 remix. There is no reason there should be three Earphoria songs on this, and especially not Why Am I So Tired, which takes up enough disc space for at least 3 or 4 things we may not have heard before.

It really makes me wonder what the state of the SP archive from 1988 to 1994 really is if this is what they have to do to fill a disc. Ignoffo tapes, Mashed Potatoes, WZRD show....this is all stuff with which any fan with even a passing interest in unreleased material is already exceedingly familiar.

But hey, Pulse Cable show.

bill's thinking is probably about presenting the best material he's got to fans who haven't heard it before......

with the amount of pre-Gish material showing up on the reissues so far, it looks like an official collected release of these songs is now very unlikely. too bad. barring the SPRC (lol) seems we won't be getting the following:

* Under Your Spell
* Daughter
* C'Mon
* Egg
* Love
* Psychodelic
* Snap
* Stars Fall In
* With You

plus the old drum-machine era SP like the Vigil and some of the acoustic RTS songs.
