Talking The Smashing Pumpkins play Costa Rica 2008

April 19, 2008 - Autodromo La Guacima
San Jose, Costa Rica

Smashing Pumpkins
Duran Duran
Incubus
Le*Pop
Porpartes

Anyone in the U.S heading down for this show?
I sincerely considering it.
Also, those in the area- has anyone been to a concert at this venue?
Are there decent lodgings near it ?

Thx

when I made the thread hypothesizing on a US summer tour ( http://forums.netphoria.org/showthread.php?t=156292 )
I was summarily told to keep on dreaming. I don't see how it would be impossible. . .
didn't billy recently comment about not wanting to disappear for years, but instead keep making new music and touring smaller venues that will cost more. . .?
That to me implies he will be doing this in the US. . .
But- if Costa Rica is as close as they will get to US for this summer- I'm going to have to go down there.

yes, the venue is like 3miles from the airport

Also, this is a video of the 2006 edition of this festival in the same venue:

There will apparently be USA dates:

Duran Duran plus Incubus plus SP?
I saw Incubus play right before the Pumpkins at a festival, and that was weird enough. But Duran Duran? Jesus.

Well, considering the types of t-shirts they have been selling...let's just say that the fan-made shirts look well "competitive."

Dunno what the deal is with tshirts. When I went to see Radiohead in '03 there were a ton of fans who drove up from Mexico that had made shirts for the show.

Weird. Fun though, if you're into that kind of thing.

So, Costa Rica is fifteen years behind the U.S. too?
