As I expected, higher energy level out of the Lightning here than I've seen the past few games. Pretty fast paced and hard hitting for a November hockey game.

if i weren't a bruins fan, i can imagine being highly annoyed by him. as a bruins fan, he makes me laugh! he is so insanely over the top

The Forum's ice is always pretty good... especially for a southern team. Curious if they had a concert or something last night.

Notice how the Lightning are bringing an aggressive forecheck half of the time instead of playing a strict 1-3-1? That's because Bylsma is worth a damn and developed ways to counterattack the 1-3-1 instead of pissing and moaning like the Flyer crybabies.

If a Bruins player decapitated a guy Edwards would complaint about what a gutless play it was for the adversary to dull the Bruin's defenseless blade.

Yeah in HD it's not that shabby... puck sitting down pretty well. Looks like several guys were spilling there in the last few minutes though I don't think ice conditions had much to do with it.

New ownership spent a bunch of money last year installing more cooling units and dehumidifiers which have made a big difference. Makes sense as they have a skilled team and benefit from improved ice. When I was there on opening night (10/17) it was hot as balls outside but cold and dry in the building with great ice.

but that first goal doesn't happen if staal is trying to get that puck out in pittsburgh

you obviously know plenty about the game, do you play hockey at all? i finally reactivated after about 6 years off, having a blast. can't move quite like i used to though, would love it if i were able to devote more time to conditioning and skills.

i bought apple tv thinking i'd be able to watch the games this year. turns out you can, if you've paid for game center. but i can see 5 min. summaries of the games, and that's been tiding me over for now.

I've been trying to drag myself into a beer league for like 4 years now and haven't. Luckily, with more income and a higher flexibility of scheduling I might be able to get back into it next season. I've always thought that if I get back into it I'll have to buy supplemental insurance to cover lost income if I blow a knee or something. The league I'm eying is no contact but the fear of some old 'nuck spilling into me and rolling my knee scares me as I have to be able to walk around to work.

Having old man problems sucks.

I hate pigman. Pens didn't play bad from where I'm sitting, Rollie just came up huge and our offense was opportunistic. I have a feeling we'll be meeting in the playoffs again this year.

it was actually eerily reminiscent of the later playoff games (power play problems ahhhhhh [even though they had that really good one where roloson was just out of his mind in the second period]) but with more solid chances for the pens this time around.

can't believe they just got smacked around by that old man AGAIN

He certainly seems to have there number though I have to think they'd have snuck a few by him if Crosby was in the lineup. Try as I might I just can't hate the Pens after what I saw on 24/7 last year though I wish nothing but bad things for Niskanen after his crosscheckfest on Stamkos at the end of the game. Bylsma is the man.

i think roloson is now 5-5-1 all time against them. but he's won 4 in a row now. unless i misheard when they said 4-5-1 earlier tonight. or maybe that was just the regular season.
