Ashevillle show, What should i buy?(recording)
Best recording equipment(sound, video) i can get out of $1k?
Also, are you guys bringing 5ft tripods, fluffy long mics, etc? I can imagine since they gave the OK, people would bring some high quality huge cameras. Surely there are some limitations.. Last edited by czr : 06-06-2007 at 09:28 AM. |

Are you planning on taping the whole residency or other shows this summer? I'm sure there will be numerous tapers at the shows, why not invest it or blow it on something else?

I am skipping trying to record anything. There will plenty of other people there already doing that. I more concerned about getting my short girlfriend a place where she can see.

Just make sure there is some good audio and video from 6/26 since that's the night I will be there.

I don't know if I can get my hands on any equipment, but I am very willing to do some after effects animations for the DVD. I can do all the menu's and such. PM me if interested.

Unless you're going to multiple shows at the Orange Peel, like some greedy people, you shouldn't bother going through the hassle of trying to record the show. If I'm only going to one show, which I am, I'm not goin' to lessen my experience of it by worrying about such things as "Is the camera steady?" or "Do I have the best angle?" If you're only getting one shot at seeing it, enjoy to the fullest, don't "go to work" trying to record the show, who the hell's paying you?

Edirol R09. Cost effective and sounds amazingly great.
(Edit....) Or, if you want to really step it up and buy the best recording setup possible for the price...the MR-1000 from Korg is where to go. (In fact, if anybody wants one just PM me and I can hook you up with a special deal. I work at Sweetwater Sound.) Last edited by Esotarious : 06-06-2007 at 11:09 PM. |
