You think Soundgarden affected Queens of the Age's success?
I imagine that a lot of people that initially were Soundgarden fans became QOTSA fans when Soundgarden broke up.

Soundgarden are at the top of allmusic.com's list of artists that have influenced Queens of the Stone Age. How are they not similar besides vocal styles?

I have never once thought either band sounded similar to each other. They don't, at all.
Another one of Catherine Wheel's ill-advised stream of consciousness threads. |

Sure it is. "A literary technique that presents the thoughts and feelings of a character as they occur." C. Wheel thinks of some random shit and immediately posts it spontaneously.

oh you're one of those guys who looks up words he doesn't know after he uses them and then tries to reinterpret the definition to prove himself correct
have you ever read faukner, joyce or even cormac mccarthy? that's what it is |

a lot of things are going through my mind right now i am never able to understand exactly why people on the internet insist on being wrong like they have the right to be it's as if someone held up a shovel and called it a rake and i let them know it was a shovel and then i get something about how i'm trying to be condescending and lording intellectual superiority over them but i just shouldn't even bother. my fingers are starting to hurt and my eyes are kind of glazed over from the warm feeling behind the eyes i'm out of soda i should get some water and maybe a turkey sandwich roommate walks in wants to know where i put the toilet paper the restroom is weird because i think even a petit woman would have issues with accessing the toilet paper thingy so we have to put it in the cabinet thats right in front of the terlet but i put it somewhere and i got up and looked for it and then i remembered i had to blow my nose and put it in the hall for some reason i do that a lot so now i go back to my room and think about the turkey sandwich with avocado again but i still need to show this guy what stream of conciousness is because he just thinks it's making threads immediately after you think of them but that's not really a stream now is it roommate is laughing watching battle royale i should have done that but instead i'm doing this and should probably get back to crusader kings 2

Soundgarden was my favorite band for the longest time. Still a top 10 band for me.
Like I was obsessed with SG and the Northwest scene like Elph is with The Fall. |

Cornell sounds like a standard rock singer and they have standard riffs and standard lyrics what in the hell is there to be obsessed about?

I seriously can't understand why grunge fans bust a nut over this pretty ordinary masculine rock singer voice. He sounds like every other grunge singer.
