Default Gravity Demos Appreciation Thread

A/B/G/Drop A sounds like a rock version of the Hummer outro

Lucky Lad sounds like a Foo Fighters song from their first record

Jimmy's cymbal roll technique in the beginning of Dizzle is really cool

The guitar part around 20 seconds in to Weeping Willowly is really nice

SP was effortlessly good around this time

Yeah but it's a different recording to the one that's on Pastichio Medley, which is way better.

is the viper on the gravity demos? that's got to be one of billy's best riffs.

up there with jackboot and the riff that pwns on the live extended versions of mary star of the sea.

Also Star Song is amazing but I don't think it was a Gravity Demo.

I get goosebumps listening to the full version.

Like, when it goes past the point where it cuts off on the medley, and it resolves musically. ahhhhh

There's some absolute gold on the Gravity Demos. It'd be kinda interesting to know what they would have been like with lyrics.

Rings (simple but beautiful)
The Groover
Jackboot
Germans In Leather Pants
Beautiful One (I almost got into a fight with a neighbour because I was playing this over and over when I first heard it )

Rings is a surprising discovery for me. Kind of an Explosions in the Sky precursor. Really cool eastern melody

Yeah those demos were pretty dope, a lot of good potential for great songs and quite a few followed up upon versions. Funny how quite a few amazing b-sides were demoed here but never got tho shine on a proper album, ah well.

I think Blast and Dizzle are probably my favorite tunes here; Speed is also pretty good. Damn, now I think I'm gonna have to listen to it in full now.

Totally hear an early version of Endless Summer every time I listen to A/Ab/E/B/F#. Without the "hey" vocal in between.

No Escape (Weeping Willowly) has one of Jimmy's finest drum moments, I always think. Also, the song has a dreamy vibe to it

I think Rings does have scratch vocals, they're just very hard to hear. From the 45-sec mark to around 1:10.
