Paris show would be amazing as well. I dunno if there's video of the missing songs somewhere, or if Corgan could ******* the band's SBDs of those songs [lol no]

Metro deserves its own audio/video release. Probably take 3CDs to fit the show with a Blu-ray.

I wonder how much royalties the band has missed out on by not releasing it at the time?

i've done a bit of research, recorded the data, crunched the numbers, & it turns out: quite a few royalties!

Billy dislikes digital technology...

But you can put four hours video with ease on one analog VHS-tape.

it's a hybrid of analog and digital. video signal is analog, audio is typically stored in both analog and digital versions, and data can be stored on it digitally (~3.2GB per disc).

The stereo audio tracks on the "LaserDisc" are stored digital. In PCM, in CD-quality.

The earlier version "LaserVision" (~1980-1987) had analog audio...

no, there are many other types of analog and digital audio that laserdiscs can have - also including fm analog audio, AC-3, DTS, etc.
laserdiscs could have up to 2 digital audio tracks and 2 analog audio tracks on the same disc.

The standard audio format used on LaserDisc were still the two digital audio tracks.

Only a few players from the last generations were able to play surround sound.

this all depends on the discs and the players. for many, the "typical" output obtained was analog stereo. rippers today still often have to check if the audio output is analog or digital, since commonly both were on the disc and it isn't always easy to work out on many players which audio was being used.

the laser disc rips floating around of nirvana live tonight sold out are a good example of this.

maybe you are thinking that all laserdiscs were following the typical PAL format style, as these later on mostly had digital audio only? NTSC commonly had digital and analog side by side.

Dear @Shallowed,

Could you stop negative repping me every time I quote fuzzyroes. You've done this multiple times already and it's getting pathetic. You're abusing this shit now. I can't even imagine who has the time to negative rep someone every time they quote a specific person, just sad and honestly creepy a little. It's a bit stalkerish. I'm trying to figure out who you got a hard on more for, fuzzy roes or me. Get a life.

P.S.

Every time someone posts about rep, it gets pushed back another year.
