Funny you should say that because Korn, Bush and Sevendust all played at the disastrous money-grab that was Woodstock 1999.

It's hard to maintain mystique in 2012.

That wonderful elusive darkness shrouding classic bands seems almost impossible to conjure with the flurry of tweets, Facebook "likes", Tumblr posts, and other digital necessities required to "break" a young act.

However, it still exists within Gemini Syndrome.

The Los Angeles quintet remains the city's most intriguing, infectious, and inimitable rock outfit since Korn and Tool first emerged from Southern California's underbelly. Merging guttural guitars, intricate rhythm patterns, and entrancing vocals, Gemini Syndrome strikes the perfect balance between heavy and hypnotic.
There's taut instrumental proficiency from guitarists Rich Juzwick and Mike Salerno, while the tandem attack of Allesandro Paveri's bass and Brian Steele Medina's drums proves utterly gripping. At the center of this swirling storm, singer Aaron Nordstrom delivers hauntingly gorgeous words that's instantly transfix.

Sneak Peek: During one of the group's standout cuts "Basement", Nordstrom intensely bids, "Send me to the angels and tell God I said goodbye" and "You get fucked up just to get by" as riffs segue from pummeling to a faint acoustic hum. Then, there's "Left Out", where violent grooves subside into another heavenly refrain.

At the moment, the band is putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming debut full-length for Warner Bros. Records with producer Kevin Churko [Five Finger Death Punch, In This Moment], and you can keep up with them in the studio in the videos below.

However, all bets are off when this album drops as Gemini Syndrome have what it takes to become the next band the world collectively worships - while preserving the mystique of course!
I can't stop laughing.

ahahaha My thoughts exactly. WHERE THE FUCK IS LIMP BIZKIT?
Also, I wonder how many kids who go to see Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch will be confused by the sort of band Lamb of God is?

And seriously, who in the hell writes those fucking awful press releases? They are all corny as hell.

It is very very difficult to write them, because this is the standard. It's like you're supposed to sound cheesy. So if you try to avoid all these clishes then you sound like a nuball who doesn't know how to write a one sheet and are being intentionally abstract (which is fair, because you are). If you are to be taken seriously, you need to write it like that. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I read a really interesting article a while back about this very thing. I can't remember if it was written by a music director for a major station, but he had a file of all of his favorite one sheets from the last 20 years, that were full of all these clishes. And then he had a second type of One Sheets that attempted to diverge from the obvious formula, but those just developed their own formulas.

It really is the hardest part of being in a band.

I love it when you try to pretend you are in the industry.

What is so terrible about Chris Cornell now? It's not like he's made any of the bad decisions that Corgan has made. Soundgarden aren't what they once were but you can't honestly expect them to be at this point. The new Soundgarden album is pretty decent.

voice is shot, songwriting has gone down the tubes, selling his songs to commercials, reunited band with severely disappointing results... pretty much exactly like corgan. except that he also has the timbaland album to answer for

I just went back and noticed. I honestly didn't think Cornell was capable of that.

But Corgan has always been somewhat of an opportunist. I don't think you can say the same thing about Cornell.

There are some good songs on that first Audioslave album. I don't like the whole thing but it's solid.

I wouldn't call it solid. It has several very good songs and a bunch of filler.

That's not Chris Cornell having always been an opportunist. That's just in more recent years. And that's just one album. Corgan has been an opportunist his whole professional career.
