nah, please. the common "netphoria band" should offer more than one good album, don't you think?
I'm voting against MBV. and against Two Gallants. I like both, but... not that much. can't we find something better we agree on?

I don't mean that literally, but I feel Punk is a much more left-brained literate music than Jazz which isn't really trying to convey ideas, just emotions

I said that in some other thread (MBV only having one good record) and peeps were like hmm no but clearly they're wrong

I cant even understand why some people like that latest one. There's one good song on it. The rest was mediocre or shit. Its weird too i heard the one good song (no i can't remember what its called) at my dentist office(i mean it's not the type of place you'd expect to hear MBV that's what's weird) when it came out...and i was like this sounds like MBV what is this?. Then the radio guy was like like that was MBV. Then i got excited. Then i had some cavities fixed. Then I went home and listened to the record.....

But I like Jazz

I feel the same way about it as I do Blues and Classical and Flamenco, they're root genres

I'm assuming you don't know jazz much, that's okay, I think I was your age when I first started to really enjoy and understand (a little bit) of jazz

oh this is a chili peppers topic? Shiiiieeeeet. I was way into them in the 80s and early 90s. the problem is they reached commercial success and the suck is stuck on them regardless of how good the musicians in the band are.

- Wire
- Fugazi
- Pixies
- David Bowie
- Massive Attack
- Chelsea Wolfe

can we just go for wire and pretend it was a mutual decision.

but if we disqualify elph, we might get a bunch - starting with led zep.

If we disqualify me, you'd still get either Pixies or Bowie.

leaves Chelsea Wolfe, tarrampampam. or fugazi
(although we might have to disqualify fuzzy, chick music and all that...)

Me and Elph should clearly be disqualified otherwise there will never be a consensus.

I haven't seen many if any people openly hating on the Cure but i know pave doesn't really care for them so...

Bowie could work. Truth is i respect him a lot but i only willingly listen to maybe 5% of his output at best and rarely even...but...he's legit and all so I couldn't possibly object.

like... no one hates Bowie right?

yeah i've come to the conclusion that bowie is likely bar none the most respected music artist of all time.

I don't think i've come across anyone who hated bowie.

Fugazi seems like a satisfactory answer.

What about Talking Heads?

I'm alright with Talking heads.

Don't give a fuck about Fugazi.

I still think you're more bound to find consensus on Bowie.
