Prince via The Bangles with Manic Monday.

To Live and Die in L.A. fits the criteria here I think.

I would say the entire 2nd side of Joshua Tree does as well.

and now back to the cheesey with These Dreams from Heart. meh...

I dunno, I actually kinda dig some of Peter Ceteras solo stuff. I picked up an LP of his greatest hits and there's some nice stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's 80's cornball to the max, but sometimes that's the kind of music that hits the spot for me. Like if I'm reading a book before bed 80's soft rock just hits the spot and acts as nice background music. Or if I'm going on a relaxing walk in the sun or something sometimes Peter Ceteras blend of soft rock just feels good.
