I wish there was a real water park near me and not just a regular park with cement and fountains. Even that is a 30 minute drive. I definitely took all the attractions of living in a major city for granted. And the medical care. You won't get an appointment with anybody for a minimum of 6 weeks around here. Oh and of course the internet connection! No usable internet past 5 pm or on weekends! BUT there is a county fair next month and I've been to 3 parades this summer. Surely it all evens out. -_____-

seems vague, ryan. was she late giving you feedback for a frame you made?

few months back i was asked to write a grant proposal. i had mentioned i had grant writing certification and had written some in the past, so they let me do the research and write one.

i did and submitted it for editing. when i next came into work i was locked out of the foundation website and saw it had been submitted under the grant writer's name. i asked her straight up why she submitted it under her name and she said because our consultant told her to. i also straight up told her i expected more out of her since she claims to be a feminist or some bullshit (plus i know that i would have pushed back against putting my name on work i didn't do). but she's also a white female and like her male counterparts is more concerned with status and gaining credit (even when undue) than anything else.

i spent hours and weeks working on it.

the consultant said it was meant to be a learning experience and in a meeting with her i said in learning experiences one usually learns something. all i did was stuff i already knew how to do without any help only to have someone else's name put on it. but apparently this sort of stuff happens a lot to people, especially women, of color.

it's very convoluted but the short version is that I have spent a significant amount of time over the last few months moving the shop over to POS software. my boss has been putting off paying for the subscription because it's $1000, so after the trial version expired a few weeks ago, I have just kind of been sitting on it and waiting to be able to get back to work on it. today she decided she didn't want to pay and wanted another free trial. I brought up four or five reasons why this is a really bad idea including we could lose what we had already done, and she got pissed off at me and forced me to try to re-download the trial software. Well I for one was sure shocked as shit when downloading it again resulted in the entire original copy being written over.

because I'm stupid and because my boss makes me feel psychologically abused, degraded, and on the defense all the time. this was not something we had even talked about, I just came upstairs and she shoved the computer in my face and told me she wanted me to try and get a second free trial.
