I've heard that song about being wired to technology, but that's it.

What was it about the new album's direction that made Janet Weiss leave? Quasi is a better band tbh anyway.

It has st Vincent all over it. Maybe it’s too poppy for her? Very curious to see who drums on the tour. Seeing them 10/19.

I don't want to sound like a curmudgeon that doesn't want a band to evolve and explore new sonic territory, but this album is lacking everything I love about the SK. The push/pull tension between Corin and Carrie's vocals, their intertwining guitar lines where the melodies depend on which lines you're listening to, and Janet's nearly off-the-rails drums that kept everything propelling forward. None of it is there.

It just sounds like they emailed ideas back and forth, Annie glued it together, they "learned" their own ideas, and Annie put a sheen over it all.

I REALLY wanted to like it and I listen to it every know and then, but I still end up with the same conclusion. Huge bummer for me.

I like the album a lot. but I doubt I'll listen to it a million times like i have every other SK album. It's nice to see them try something new.
