omg me, too. except for the band shirt thing. i don't have any of those.
but when looking for gym shirts from the thrift store i only care that it's comfy material and fits me. so i end up with some weird tee's that i wear around home, too. i did get a cool one from the museum of science and industry the other day.

Yeah totally, 23 injured is just about as many as 280. Also a drunk running from police driving into a crowd is at the same level of per-calculated making and setting off home made bombs where the people who did it are a complete mystery for days.

No but if you're talking about one situation evoking a national reaction compared to another then yes the circumstances of death do come into play.

I have no idea why this would be a go america flag waving spectacle There's literally no reason whatsoever for it to be. Should there be one for the building that just blew up from a gas exploding killing 2 people and injuring others in NYC a couple of days ago?

It's almost as if you're completely oblivious to the spontaneity of that sort of reaction to certain events. It's not something that happens after it's declared, it's an organic natural phenomena that sprouts from a national tragedy in which people feel the country was attacked yet they overcame it.
