He mentioned working on this near the beginning of the year and it's still not done, with all the material just sat there...

This is the beginning of the Machina/Zwan reissues not happening.

i remember reading at the beginning of the reissue project, that contracts were signed, and that everything up to rotten apples had to be released before the end of 2013.
when i said i didn't believe that would ever happen, someone assured me that there was no way out of it, not for belly and not for emi.
clearly that wasn't true.

The Adore project may be delayed, but, I don't think there's much doubt it will be finished. He doesn't tend to post things like that note sheet or Tweet about a project unless it's coming to fruition. Obviously, based on a lot of my posts, there aren't many people on Netphoria who are more cynical than me about his ability to follow through with release schedules. But for the Adore reissue, I'm actually okay with him taking all the time he needs.

I've said all along that the Adore reissue has the greatest potential to be something special. It was his first true dabble with electronic approaches, and the technology of 2013 is almost incomparable to the shit that existed back in 1997. A true remixing and remastering of Adore, along with a multitude of unheard glimpses into arguably the darkest, most heart-felt era of his song writing, is something I can't wait to get my hands on. If it takes until January for him to jam-pack the boxset full of demos, instrumentals and finished alternate versions, that's fine by me. I just hope we get a little more, then, than we have been. I know I'd gladly pay a higher price for more material.

And speaking of instrumentals, since the album plays more like an opera, I think it could be incredible to inc|ude a disc of strictly instrumentals from the original album. All 16 tracks, no vocals, just the background tracks. It'd be like some sort of movie score.

the L13 called me and asked me if this was actually a good idea. I told them to go ahead and they will go into the archives to make it happen.
then they told me I wasn't part of the L13 team.

CAIC, your lucky to talk to billy directly. i still have to smile at monte.

An even better idea would be to release the sound stems via Creative Commons, along the lines that Reznor did for Year Zero. From just the short Adore documentary that's out there, there appears to be layer upon layer of texture there. It'd be fun to sort of hear things for the first time again.

I used "there" three times in one sentence.

that would/could make sense. nice job transcribing that list. Probably safe to say that anything mentioning WOOD or WOOD DEMO means Brad Wood.

1.5 san paulo - i think "batman", but it could be "ava adore" too

also, next to dusty and pistol pete, it says "5.10 rough 7 inch"
there's no number next to "every day i die"

and what are the scribbles next to "for martha 2.17 crc"? i think i see "unr", maybe for unreleased, but what's in front of that?

that would be amazing if heaven really was satellite and that really did say "exciting version" and it turned out to be the amped up grunge rocker of my fantasy fiction
