Default Listening to Radiohead and Coldplay back to back

Usually when I'm in the mood for Radiohead I'm also in the mood for Coldplay. So I might listen to Amnesiac and then listen to Ghost Stories. Or maybe I'll start off with Viva la Vida and then listen to Moon Shaped Pool. Does anyone else do this?

Are Coldplay still really popular?

They're playing the foot-ball stadium here in Vancouver... It's a venue that's usually only used for shows like the Guns N Roses reunion, Taylor Swift or when U2 had some of their huge productions years back.

Honestly, aside from both being British, I don't think you could find two bands who are more different. Even if Radiohead kept going down the Pablo Honey/Bends path, they still would have emerged as something completely different (and ultimately a lot more interesting) than Coldplay.

Coldplay's first album is like if you took Bulletproof from The Bends and made a whole record out of it

They have some nice/endearing songs on the first two IMO, though there is nothing original about them at all. There were a few songs I liked on X&Y as well, but after that they were too bad to even bother

Yeah, I mean, it's nothing I'm going to spin these days, but I did enjoy Parachutes and Rush of Blood quite a bit in their day.

I don't know why anyone would willingly subject themselves to the audio diarrhea they spew nowadays though.

Viva La Vida is as good as Parachutes or Rush of Blood. I actually find myself listening to that more than Ok Computer. They branch out and try some new things on that one. X and Y was them just doing the same thing over and over again. There's no progression on that one.

X & Y is music for people who have deep tans and wear white pants.
