Radio play/sales of MTAE
Has anyone seen any charts on the singles? I heard Tiberius a few times on my local Clear Channel station when it got all the positive buzz and have heard Drum + Fife a few times on my local public owned hipster station, but I don't think any of the songs have even charted. Anyone got any solid numbers?

17-19K? That doesn't look right, especially considering how much more promotion was put into MTAE compared to Oceania. Is it normal for first day sales to lag but then jump by the second or third day?

Here in Portugal, I think nobody has even noticed SP has a new album, beside me.
....I will shout it out on the street tomorrow. |

Yeah, but it's a greatest hits album from someone who doesn't have that many albums.

I guess people just don't want American Gothic bands.

What passes as country music nowadays is frankly fucking retarded. they don't even bothr with a bit of twang now. It's basically all pop all the way. Johnny Cash and Hank Williams be rolling over in their graves.

One and All would be a good single, if only the record label was smart and actually promoted it as such. Drum and Fife would be a good followup.

If the numbers stay consistent it's on par to do as well as Oceania, maybe slightly better, which isn't so bad. It would probably help if they released the video. It's strange that they didn't release it on the day of the album release.

"ChartNews is reporting that based on one day sales, Smashing Pumpkins’ new album Monuments to an Elegy will sell 17-19,000 copies in the United States during its first week on sale, based on one day sales. This is the lowest first week sales total in the band’s career, outside of 1991’s Gish. The album has been seen as a creative return to form for the band, despite the sales."
Man that's terrible. Whoever is in charge of marketing this albums release should be canned |

#1 They streamed too many songs in the weeks prior to the release.
#2 They chose an awful lead single. It should have been Drum+Fife. |
