I enjoy that it bothers you.

My avatar celebrates Machina.

Yours celebrates Mark McGrath.

There's not enough room on this board for two Mike Macgrath avatars!

To be really fair, I haven't considered Machina I and II real separate entities for the better part of a decade now. When I vote, I think of the three discs' worth of material I compiled from the pre-master and MII.

And even if I didn't Adore has Annie-Dog which always reminds me that Courtney Love exists so that's kind of an automatic loss regardless of the surrounding content

Kidding aside, I suppose Adore could kind of be considered better overall than Machina I. But that's not what "Machina" is to me anymore.

then I think we can safely subtract those votes, "imposter votes" if you will

only 13 for Adore, it's a close one!

Forget Machina.

Slow Dawn is better than the entirety of Adore on it's own.

Mustn't forget that Corgan's Bluff has yet to endorse a candidate; this is too close to call until he throws his weight behind one album or another

Spoiler alert: One of them has D'arcy playing on it and one does not

Think you're smart, do ya? Well check this out.

Wretzky also responded to Corgan’s insinuation in a recent Instagram post that she (or, as he monikered her, the “flaxxen Saxon”) did not play most of the bass lines on 2000’s Machina/The Machines of God:

There you have it, D'arcy did not play OH FUCK

listen, the poll did not specify machina 2 was included, or i would have picked machina 1/2. if someone wants to make a new thread/poll, i will revise my vote. otherwise, i will stick with my adore > machina vote

As obnoxious of a title as Machina - The Machines of God is, at least it's not a pun.

try from m1 was just cringey for me, the whole 'pop, pop, pop' thing. the m2 version is good!

same with todapp, the synth drum loop just sounds cringey as to me.

i don't understand any love for with every light, just sounds like horrible light christian pop rock to me? his vocals really annoy me in this song to, maybe an instrumental version would be ok.

i connected to WEL a few years after my grandma died. i was doing really poorly mental-health wise when she passed and for the years before. obviously i don't believe in heaven or whatever, but there's something that really touching about feeling like in the end she knew i got better and was happy with how things turned out in her life, including in relation to me. those aren't quite what the lyrics are about i don't think, but something about suffering being over with for a parent (or grandparent or whatever) and kind of 'doing well' for them

I'm looking forward to when the box comes out and people get angry and frustrated that barely a thing sounds like it did on MII

on another note, I really wasn't expecting these pole results. I assumed adore would blow machina out of the water. so much for that.

I voted for machina but while voting I was also including machina 2 songs in my head, not sure if this is cheating? Adore doesn’t have as much replay value to me and can be a bore to listen to after a while. Also don’t know how you could vote for the album that doesn’t have jimmy on it. Adore is cool but doesn’t really seem like the rest of the pumpkins albums. And that isn’t always a good thing.
