The fulcrum is: As long as the song features me and Jimmy Chamberlin, it is Smashing Pumpkins. Hell! here's 30 different guys rocking out in the video, who's in the Pumpkins? Who's not? it doesn't matter... JC's there, I'm there... It's SP!

All jokes aside, that's clearly the statement of the video...... right?

There was a lot of backlash that Iha and D'arcy weren't there and speculation was rampant around who would be in the band so Corgan releases a video for a ripping song with about 20 random people rocking out around the 2 known members of the group...

It was essentially a statement from the group that "who fills out the band doesn't matter... Here's 20 nobodies rocking out and having fun and enjoying the song... Who's in the group? Who's not? it doesn't matter, just enjoy the song, fuckers"

This I guess is a rather obvious take on the video, but it's still one I've never really seen articulated among the fan community.

I think this is going down in the history books as a "gold-tier thread" along with my thread about all the bald guys on the Adore tour (which was later proven to be correct in Kenny Aronoffs book!!!)

it was 100% obvious and bland boring. Everyone knew james and d'arcy weren't in the reunion band. it was a non-story and a super obvious concept - lame.
