saw them just last month as well
it kinda felt like the guys from SOTL were backing up the strings
and not the other way around

overall seeing them live left me feeling sad, i guess there'll never be another godspeed.
i got to stop living in the past.

as for "ambient" artist
i prefer My Cat Is An Alien live.

on another note: I can't stand when people go on about Explosions in the Sky, fucking boring major key noodling with delay and people act like its the most holy musical experience of their life live. Blink 182 could probably pull if off just as well as they do.

Case and point : you don't know how to make up a melody, your not a musician.

This comment reminds me of Chris Farely's unpleasent reaction in that old SNL hidden camera skit when finds out his coffee is actually made of Colombian decaffeinated coffee crystals [even though it tastes like rich-bodied, regular coffee]. All you can do is just sit back in awe of what's happening, deliberating the possibility that you're either high or dreaming.

the problem that most people have with this kind of music
is the lyrics
and the vocal mix.
can't expect them to like everything.
